Philly Brown and the Panthers helped ‘Coolidge75’ to victory

On a two-game slate for the NFC and AFC Championship games, a field of 57,471 lineups were submitted for the DraftKings $1 Million NFL Conference Championship. Forget that there were only a handful of players to choose from. Sunday represented the final meaningful weekend of the season to play daily fantasy football.

Coolidge75‘ was your winner, turning $20 into a $100,000 top prize. He generated 208.5 points, which would have been one of the top scores of any regular week, with only two games to pick players from.

Cam Newton was the stud play of the week at quarterback. The Carolina Panthers signal caller shined in a thumping of Arizona, racking up two rushing touchdowns, two passing touchdowns, and 382 total yards for 42.1 points. He added a two-point conversion late in the game for good measure. Newton was 32% owned.

At running back, ‘Coolidge75’ had CJ Anderson and David Johnson. Anderson, from Denver, had 90 yards from scrimmage and three catches for 12 points. He was 55% owned. Also at tailback, ‘Coolidge75’ selected Arizona’s Johnson, who struggled running the ball, but added nine catches and a touchdown for 27.8 points. Johnson, who had struggled in recent weeks, was 44% owned.

At receiver, ‘Coolidge75’ selected Carolina’s Philly Brown and Ted Ginn. Brown was a scant 12% owned, but teed off with a 4-113-1 stat line, good for 24.3 points on DraftKings after a bonus for hitting 100 yards. Ginn scored on a 22-yard run and added two catches for 52 yards, which equated to 15.4 points. Ginn had double the ownership of Brown.

Also at receiver, ‘Coolidge75’ had Denver’s Emmanuel Sanders, who was largely quiet with a 5-62 line. Sanders had 11.2 points, the fewest of anyone on the winning roster, and was owned by one-third of the field.

Rob Gronkowski was ‘Coolidge75’s’ tight end. He found the end zone late in the game and posted an impressive eight catches for 144 yards. Gronk was 65% owned, but made those who didn’t fade his gargantuan salary proud, although his real life team was eliminated from the playoffs.

At the flex position, ‘Coolidge75’ had Greg Olsen, Carolina’s tight end. Olsen had six catches for 113 yards, making him the third teammate ‘Coolidge75’ paired with Newton. Olsen was 50% owned.

Finally, at defense, ‘Coolidge75’ had Carolina, who watched Arizona’s Carson Palmer implode with six turnovers on his own. Carolina’s defense also had a score and three sacks for a total of 24 points.
