We’ve written about two big finishes in Sunday Majors by players from the Czech Republic today. First, we talked about Jakub SedrickDobiáš, who final tabled the PokerStars 10th Anniversary Sunday Stormand walked away with $32,000. The same day, December 11th, fellow Czech player Lubos lubos1980czDvorak (pictured) stamped out a chop in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up, walking away with $73,000 and officially taking second place. Needless to say, everything’s coming up Czech.

The Sunday Warm-Up ended in a four-way chop, with U.K. PocketFiver Zimmy recording the win and banking nearly $90,000. Dvorak told PocketFives that the process of coming to an accord wasn’t too complicated: “It was easy. Each of the other players agreed and I was also happy with it.” All four remaining players had roughly even stacks when the deal was struck.

Dvorak explained his rationale for wanting to secure what was at the time more than fourth place money: “You can be chip leader, but a few hands later, you can be out. I had something like 9.3 million in chips. I was third in chips, but first place had something like 10.5 million, so it was really even.”

Dvorak got his start in poker in the live arena, but admitted that he wasn’t very successful. Instead of trying to grind it out live, he turned to online poker: “I tried to play online and loved it. I started reading a few books about poker, watched videos, and played every day for about 10 hours.” He signed up an account on PocketFives four months ago and has over $300,000 in tracked online poker scores to his credit, all on PokerStars. He’s at #435 worldwide in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings and is #7 in the Czech Republic.

When asked how he was turned onto the game of poker originally, the Czech player told us, “I was playing casino blackjack one time and saw guys playing poker. So, I sat next to them and started playing with them. I loved it. The next day, I bought some books and started learning.” His first foray into live poker came in April 2010, so you can do the math to figure out that his career is just a year-and-a-half old.

Besides his Sunday Warm-Up haul, other scores by Dvorak on the virtual felts include a $16,000 windfall for winning the PokerStars Big $162 in August. In May, he found the winner’s circle of the site’s $11 Rebuy and walked away with $12,000. He’s averaging $504 over the 656 cashes he’s turned in for the PocketFives Rankings.

Dvorak has come a long way in the last 20 months, so we asked him to give us his take on his brief online poker career: “I used to play on Full Tilt Poker. I got some experience there and, after Black Friday, I started playing on PokerStars. There, I had a really good first two months, so I decided to play poker for a living. I dreamed that I could chop a big Sunday Major, but over the last two months, I had a big downswing and started having doubts about my game.” Doubts be damned.

The December 11th PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up attracted a field of 3,680 entrants and distributed a total prize pool of $736,000. The top 540 players landed in the money, with the final table shaking out as follows following the four-way deal:
