Once again I have made 10 Thursday lineups and entered them all into the $2 Snap on FanDuel. With 172,414 runners, it should give us a pretty clear picture of what the public’s intentions are come Sunday. These are the guys I am interested in, guys I thought others may be interested in, and guys whose ownership percentage I mined from the Thursday(*) leaderboards.

Alright, who am I missing? There are only 29 QBs you could consider and 12 of them are here. That leaves an average of 2%/QB unaccounted for unless I am missing somebody more popular. Eli Manning, Andrew Luck, and Tom Brady really stick out to me as under-owned. Last I checked, New England had the highest team total on the board, Indy had the 2nd, and the Giants were 9th on the list.

I expect Gurley’s ownership to be much greater on DraftKings, where his price is criminally low at 5k. That’s were most McCoy owners should land as well. I’m surprised Miller is still only 6.4%. I suppose it is game theory optimal to fade Freeman and Gurley in GPPs. People finally know about Ivory, but I’m not buying him this week running for nine-point dogs in New England. I’m shocked Bell is the next most popular from the main slate.

Fitzgerald still more popular than Hopkins, eh? Price thing probably? John Brown is too highly owned. Palmer isn’t going to throw it 50 times every game. Carson and I went to college together at USC, same class in fact, 2003. He sat in front of me once in an exercise science class. Pissed me off that I couldn’t see around the giant. But that was 13 years ago. If Palmer were the goat quarterback, then we would have heard about it sometime between when he hoisted a Heisman in 2002 and his 30th birthday in 2010.

Stefon Diggs is 14.5%, but Teddy Bridgewater is 0.6%.

Larry Fitzgerald, DeAndre Hopkins, John Brown, Stefon Diggs, Donte Moncrief, and Travis Benjamin are your top 6 most popular wide receivers of the week. They collectively had a season-long league ADP (average draft position) of something like 100th before this season started.

Jimmy Graham* 8.40%
Gronk 4.40%

The Patriots of New England are once again expected to score more points than any other football club in America this weekend. They have this monster named Gronk who needs to be triple teamed just to be stopped via pass interference. This monster, just a few weeks ago, was the most popular footballer in all of the land. Just a few games later, he is owned slightly more than an average tight end should be owned.

Gates has injury issues, so keep that in mind this weekend. If Gates is out, Ladarius Green might be the nut play, especially if Keenan Allen is limited as well.

It’s cute that people take the Seattle kicker to have a Thursday Night Football sweat. I’m also tickled that Gostkowski is the most popular Patriot on a week when the Patriots are supposed to score the most points.

D/ST
Rams 14.40%
Seattle* 10.50%
Carolina 10.00%
Arizona 8.10%

New York Giant 1.50%
49ers* 1.40%

I thought the Rams would be more popular. 4500 on FanDuel is minimum price, no? I feel like both Gurley and Rams D/ST are near the top of their positions regardless of price. I am surprised that Carolina is almost as popular as the Rams. I thought they were going to be my contrarian pivot off of St. Louis. Instead, I will just have more Rams and fade Carolina. I really like Washington, New England, Miami (who won people millions last week, still only 4% even though in a better matchup and at home), and the New York Giants defenses as well.

I’m pretty sure most DFS football players have lost their mind and we’re not even halfway through the season. I feel like I will be playing the chalk and being contrarian at the same time this weekend.

Now, take what you’ve learned and head over to FanDuel.
