Happy Tuesday!

Lots of action tonight with all 30 MLB teams in play. Big contests on both FD and DK tonight with the $25 Slam and $20 Tuesday Special both sporting $300k guarantees. We never had prize pools that big in poker on a Tuesday and we’re just getting started in DFS. Can’t wait until football comes around!

Coors Field and Kershaw are both in play tonight, it’s going to be tough to have both. I don’t think I will be touching Kershaw on DK with his 15k price tag and less than optimal matchup. Don’t get me wrong, Oakland isn’t a team to be feared, and I think Kershaw is a very safe play tonight, but I don’t think it will be easy for him to score 30 points which is what he needs to meet value. Oakland doesn’t strike out as much as other teams and they are aggressive with their pinch hitters for matchups. I don’t like DeGrom very much either at 11.6k @ BAL, but I like him better than Kershaw. I think both are fine plays on FD. Don’t play DeGOAT in cash games as BAL can knock him around, but they also strike out a bunch so I like him for GPPs. I will be going cheaper at pitching today though as I want to pay up for some bats today and I like the 2nd tier options in Garrett Richards, James Shields, Lance Lynn, Jason Hammel, and Anibal Sanchez. Unfortunately all of them except the Cali guys (Shields and Richards) have thunderstorms in the forecast. I like Liriano for his upside but I worry about his matchup and ownership, I think he will be popular so I am off him in all formats. Tyler Cravy is facing Miami at home and is 4.2k. He should go 5 or 6 innings and he’s just under a career K/inning guy. I like Sabathia at 6k also, both of them can unlock all the Coors and Kershaw you want.

Schwarber is the top catching option tonight but I’m likely going Jaso again at 3.2k, much better value. Rizzo and Zimmerman are the top 1B options. Rizzo will be more contrarian and I have him more likely to dong. Ben Paulsen is a cheaper option, and in the middle Pujols and Belt are fine plays too. Travis Shaw is a great punt and 3B eligible too. At 2B it’s either Rendon or Coghlan for me. Rendon can be 3B also and Coghlan can be OF. Plenty of SS options; Reyes, Desmond, Tulo, and HanRam are all fairly priced in decent spots. Peralta, Kang, Kiki, Iglesias, Hernandez, and Aybar are fine cheaper options too. At 3B I am looking those WAS options in Rendon and Zimmerman that I didn’t use elsewhere. Dietrich is my fav cheap 3B play again. Harper is the nuts in the outfield today but he’s really expensive at 6.4k. I like Blackmon, Marte, Coghlan, Ellsbury, Fowler, Carlos Gomez, and Werth for middling options, and Shane Victorino is a great punt play.

The WAS and COL stacks will popular tonight and rightfully so. I can see the Angels being popular facing Danks and they should be too. There will be runs scored and finding the right stack will be important in GPPs tonight. I like the Cubs for upside and ownership tonight, they too can score a dozen but should go mostly overlooked.

I’ll have my golf notes out later tonight, and I’ll be live at RotoGrinders talking golf at 2000 DFS time tonight, and then the show will be available in podcast form on iTunes.
