Sunday Funday! Lots of action today with MLB and NASCAR as we wind down the clock on summer and all things not NFL DFS. With week 1 right around the corner, we can expect an influx of new users this week as well as a decline in action for all sports not NFL… until Free Money Tuesday in 9 days, of course, and the first MLB Milly Maker that it brings on DraftKings.

A quick industry note/gripe. Yahoo entered the DFS market in July and got very little traffic. With NFL approaching, though, they offered a hefty deposit bonus and started running higher stakes games, which got my attention. I played Tuesday last week and was pleased with the action that I got. I played again on Wednesday and with 25 minutes to go before lock, I made my final lineup and could not export it to the 21 entries I had.

I emailed customer service immediately, took a screen shot, and tried everything I could to fix it, but I couldn’t. With just a few minutes to go, I discovered I could individually edit lineups and went about that process. Fortunately, I got my good lineups into my big action, so all the bug ended up costing me was $13, 40 minutes of life, and some hair. I assumed that things would be taken care of, but I was wrong.

My Wednesday email was never responded to, so I tried again on Friday. That got nothing, so I tried to withdraw everything on Saturday and that didn’t work. That email finally got a response today, one saying we’re looking into your request. I have lost all confidence with Yahoo DFS and am extremely disappointed in their (lack of) customer service. I still have high hopes, but I cannot continue to play there until things are resolved.

Today’s slate is interesting. It’s the last game of the series in Coors vs. the Giants. We probably won’t have those lineups before lineups lock. There are very few exciting options otherwise. On the bump we have four guys over 10k on DraftKings and Johnny Cueto, who may outperform them all – but many think Cueto is broken, with three straight bad performances. I don’t think he is broken, he still isn’t walking guys, and he still is striking guys out. I can’t pass on his price and hope he goes under-owned.

Keuchel is my cash game play at 12.5k and he is also my GPP play because I think Archer at 12.4k will garner more attention. Keuchel doesn’t nearly have the K upside that Archer does, but he faces a Twins team at home, while Archer heads to Yankee Stadium.

Bumgarner is an interesting option facing Colorado at Coors. I don’t like Cole’s match-up at St. Louis tonight. Marco Estrada facing Baltimore at home is my favorite cheap pitcher; he strikes out guys and BAL likes to strike out.

There are only three stacks I am running with today of the 30 teams playing. They all happen later in the day, which should hold down ownership. I like the Angels at home facing gas can Colby Lewis. The Los (The) Angeles (Angels) Angels of Anaheim have been ice cold lately and that has crashed their prices. They’re still really good professional hitters of baseballs with plenty of power in Pujols, Trout, and Calhoun.

I’ve got a Giants stack in Coors because they look good and I am a Giants fan. I am attracted to the Dodgers, but fear their extremely cheap price will pigeon-hole me with anybody else who chooses to go that route because you can basically fill in the blanks with the most expensive guys and have room to spare. Lastly, I like Pittsburgh at St. Louis, mostly because they will go under-owned being the late game and they are full of sneaky pop in guys like Pedro Alvarez and Neil Walker.
