DraftDay Holding $25,000 Money Ball Fantasy Game, Free Entries for P5ers

Published on Apr 13th, 2012

Now here's a promotion worthy of a feature article. On Sunday, the daily fantasy sports site DraftDay will be holding its first ever $25,000 Money Ball contest. This $10 multi-entry game will shell out a $4,000 first place prize and a colossal 420 players will walk away with cash. From now until the Money Ball starts on Sunday at 1:05pm ET, any member of PocketFives who signs up for DraftDay through our links and makes a real money deposit will get a free $10 entry into the special contest.

There are some major prizes on the line in DraftDay's Money Ball daily fantasy baseball game. First place, as we said, pockets $4,000 and will be one of four people to collect four-figures. Second place in the DraftDay $25,000 Money Ball earns $2,500, while third and fourth places will boost their bankrolls by $1,000 apiece. You must submit your lineup by Sunday at 1:05pm ET, which is when the first MLB game starts, in order to participate.

After you sign up for DraftDay through PocketFives, post your DraftDay user name in this Off Topic thread. DraftDay's Alex Huang, who goes by the handle UCBananaBoy here on PocketFives, will then credit your DraftDay account with a $10 Money Ball ticket. There will be 420 in the money finishers in this tournament, so, needless to say, it's an excellent opportunity to get your feet wet at fantasy baseball at no cost.

DraftDay also offers a 20% deposit bonus and you can cash in using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal. Fantasy sports received a carve-out from the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and you can take solace in knowing that DraftDay has the same parent company as CardRunners and Holdem Manager. Withdrawals are processed via PayPal or check.

The Money Ball game has nearly 3,000 entries at the time of writing, and DraftDay members can register as many teams as they want to at $10 a pop. You have a budget of $100,000 to fill a roster of 11 players: two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop, three outfielders, and a designated hitter.

From there, text found on DraftDay's website explains, "Beginning Sunday April 15th at 1:05pm ET, head back to your 'My Games' section to view the live scoring of your submitted fantasy teams. Watch as your team moves up in rank and compare your fantasy team against your opponents. This game will come down to the wire, so be sure to sweat your teams during the MLB games this Sunday."
