It’s almost time for the World Series of Poker. It’s a little more than a month away and will attract players from around the world to Las Vegas, among them Ukraine’s Artem FaNjkEEEKobylynskyi (pictured). He’ll come armed to this year’s WSOP with plenty of confidence, as he’s just a few weeks removed from earning his $3 million cash badge on PocketFives.

“I’ll try to do my best to play poker in 2015 and I hope I can succeed,” he said of his poker play heading into the rest of the year. So far in 2015, Kobylynskyi has won the 888 PokerTurbo Mega Deep and finished second in a Winamax W Series event, just to name a few big scores.

Last year in September, Kobylynskyi was the runner-up in the PokerStarsSunday 500 for $62,000, his second largest tracked score to date next to a WCOOP final table the year before. “I remember I made two big bluffs during heads-up play that didn’t work,” he said of the Sunday 500, which saw him fall to 19Pistike93.

He cashed for $33,000 in last year’s WSOP Main Event, but said the score didn’t turn around an ugly series: “I played 30 tournaments and got three in the money finishes. Even the $33,000 prize in the Main Event wasn’t enough to make that trip profitable. You know, when you see the schedule of the WSOP, you feel very optimistic and positive that you will manage to have your best play and have good results, but in fact only a small percentage of players get to do it. But this year, I will definitely win something great.”

This year at the WSOP, he said that while everyone wants a November Nine birth, “any top-three finish would be great.” He has $153,000 in live tournament scores to his credit, a number he’ll look to build on in Las Vegas starting next month. That total is good for 37th on the all-time money list for Ukraine, according to the Hendon Mob.

Kobylynskyi got his start in poker seven years ago playing with fellow students and said, “Those were my first steps in poker. Everybody played awfully and that time was carefree. I really liked that feeling and loved playing poker.”

We should point out that Kobylynskyi has won five tracked online tournaments already in April, including the PokerStars $109 Cubed for $6,100. He owns exactly 350 top-three finishes online and is #43 in the world in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings.

He closed by saying, “I want to give lots of thanks to PocketFives. You motivate us to play poker more and more.” You’re welcome!
