In less than three hours the first ever Milly Makeron DraftKingswill lock and there still aren’t 30k entrants. The contest needs 125,000 entrants to not overlay. I expect it to overlay hard. We’re trying to beat a bunch of people still though, and stacking is proven to be the most consistent way to raise your ceiling in MLB DFS, so let’s take a look at the matchups and I’ll give you some thoughts. Visit DraftKings to play.

Cubs @ Pirates – The first game today is actually the 2nd game. Both teams have team totals of 3.5 and their lineups probably won’t come out early since they are playing a day game though. I think there will be some good value here and ownership might be lower than it should be with info coming out later. Give me the Cubs.

Nats @ Philly – The Nationals have a team total of 5.5 and will likely be the most popular stack of the night. They look good to me too but if they are 20% owned then we should be off them. Philly is an interesting stack to me too because everybody will be on Strasburg. The problem with the Fillies is that you can take any 6 for less than 15k, which basically means you will then have DeGrom and Hernandez, and then your expensive bats might overlap too. Although they will not be popular, they will be owned.

Red Sox @ Orioles – I’m off both teams. Baltimore has a TT of 4.5 so I expect them to draw some lookers. I like their dong potential but they are too expensive for me.

Marlins @ Mets – I love the Marlins here. deGrom is the chalk pitcher which means people won’t be on the Ms, but they possess sneaky pop in Bour and Dietrich. I’m off the Mets, they are overpriced with their recent hot streak.

Yankees @ Rays – Team totals of 3.5 each and expensive price tags, I’m off of both of them.

Royals @ Indians – TT of 3.5 and expensive and no dongs. Fade.

Blue Jays @ Braves – The Blue Jays are typically the most popular stack when Coors Field is not in play but they might lose some attention to the Nats tonight. I like some of their cheaper guys like Smoak and Martin but Josh Dongs and Joey Bats are really expensive. I’m still wrestling with the Jays but I’m not touching the Braves.

Astros @ Rangers – I really thought I would like the Astros in this spot but they are coming up low in my projections. I love how much power they have as a team but it seems The Machine doens’t like the matchup with Holland. Nice park boost though that’s hard for Houston to do on the road. A problem with them is that the two most likely guys to dong, Gattis and Castro, both are at 1B. This reduces the number of unique stacks available for the Astros considerably, and for a top heavy prize structure like the Milly Maker, I think this makes them as a stack an auto fade but singleton plays like Gattis and Castro great.

A’s @ White Sox – Oakland has a team total of 3.5 which should keep people off them. They have lots of value and sneaky pop though and give you enough money to afford anybody. Their matchup with the Shark isn’t the best ones, but Samardzija has been known to blow up from time to time.

Tigers @ Twins – The Tigers are my favorite stack of the night. They should go under owned with a team total of only 3.5 and recent poor performance. They have 3 massive sluggers in JD, VMart, and Miggy, and surround them with value. The problem here is that there is double overlap in Castellanos and Avila/McCann, if all those guys are in the lineup I think we have to fade. If there are multiple stack combinations then I will have multiple DET stacks tonight. The Twins have a team total of 4.5 and while I like their potential to dong, I don’t like their price tag and I expect them to be popular.

Cardinals @ Brewers – The Cards should get some attention with their TT at 4.5. Their lineup looks good with Adams back in it. I like them if they get some power hitters in there like Moss, Grichuk, or Reynolds. I’m off MIlwaukee and their matchup against Carlos Martinez. I don’t think Martinez will be popular enough to make the reward worth the risk.

Padres @ Diamondbacks – Nice ballpark boost for the Padres. I don’t like their price tags though, I’d rather have Goldy from the same game at those prices. I’m not paying 4.7k for Wil Myers when Goldy is 5k. Chase Field aka Coors Light draws attention since it is the best hitter’s park on the slate.

Rockies @ Dodgers – Lots of goodness here. The later games traditionally have lower ownership than the early games. The Dodgers are really cheap. They have power. They are playing for the postseason. Rusin is not a good pitcher. There are many stack options for the Dodgers. They have a team total of 4.5. I’m a Giants fan, but the Dodgers are my top stack of the night.

Angels @ Mariners – The Angels are intriguing because they face Felix and still have power in their bats. Low ownership and such but I have them projected low too. How popular will Felix be? Seattle looks interesting but I’m off them.

Reds @ Giants – I like the Giants here. They will be lowly owned. Byrd crushes lefties and the rest of the team does not strike out against lefties, they rank 4th in the majors in that category.

Good luck, have fun chasing overlay tonight.
