We’re about a week into the Full Tilt Poker remission processfor U.S. players. The Garden City Group, the appointed Claims Administrator for Full Tilt, has been busy sending out e-mails and milling over petitions in order to refund players affected by the shutdown of the second largest online poker site in the world back in 2011. To get the latest pulse, PocketFives sat down with Poker Players AllianceVice President Rich TheEngineer Muny.

One of the biggest question marks heading into the remission process, due to language that the Garden City Group included in an e-mail outlining who would not be eligible for remission, is the status of affiliates. “We’re hearing from a lot of people who had affiliate links,” Muny told PocketFives in an exclusive interview. “People who have received rakeback from affiliates – I haven’t heard any of them having issues.”

Muny continued, “The people who I have heard having issues were those who had affiliate links on their website, even if most of their income came from their play and not affiliate revenue. Some of them heard GCG say they wouldn’t be eligible for remission, which PPA doesn’t agree with.”

Muny outlined that the PPA wants to see all players reimbursed the total amount they’re due: “In our opinion, we’d like to see people who were predominantly poker players, in terms of where their money came from, included in the remission process. We want them to receive the income they derived from poker at a minimum.”

What about Red Pros? We know employees and Team Full Tilt members are specifically excluded from the remission process, but what about ancillary marketers of the site? Muny relayed, “If you look at Friends of Full Tilt and Red Pros, I haven’t heard of anyone who was paid hourly who has gotten their remission letters yet. The people who were not paid hourly have gotten their letters. I don’t think the hourly guys fall under the Team Full Tilt clause, but they may be classified as an employee of the site.” The old Team Full Tilt is pictured.

We haven’t heard of any Red Pros reaching out to Garden City Group to check on the status of their funds, but has Muny? He remarked, “I know a couple of Red Pros who have reached out to GCG, but they haven’t gotten a response. The rakeback people who were Friends of Full Tilt have gotten some of their letters. It doesn’t mean they’ll get remission, but they got their letters.”

On poker forums, we’ve seen players struggle creating and uploading documents to prove their balance and payment information to the Garden City Group. “You should evaluate if it’s worth your time,” Muny said of the process. “I think some people are over-thinking it. You don’t have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt what your claim is. Just give GCG the information you have. That puts the ball in their court. They’ll then research it.”

Muny added, “Most players have found that their balances line up perfectly. Some people requested a withdrawal, but never got it. If they requested an ACH withdrawal, it’s straightforward. It’s proof if they send a monthly statement and the payment is not there.”
