The WSOP on GGPoker kicks off on August 1.

For the second year in a row, poker players from all over the world will have the ability to chase World Series of Poker online bracelets with GGPoker announcing this summer’s complete schedule for the international WSOP Online 2021.

Taking place from Sunday, August 1 through Sunday, September 12 the series offers players 33 gold bracelet events including a $5,000 buy-in Main Event with a $20 million guarantee.

“World Series of Poker is proud to partner once again with GGPoker to allow players throughout the globe to compete for WSOP glory,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “It’ll be the closes thing to the live WSOP tournament experience outside of Vegas.”

The 2020 WSOP Online on GGPoker brought online bracelet events to an international player pool for the first time, offering 54 gold bracelet events. In 2021 the schedule reflects the fact that live poker continues to reemerge in the midst of the pandemic, with a reduction in both events and the Main Event guarantee.

The Main Event

Just one year ago the GGPoker WSOP Online Main Event shattered the record for the largest prize pool for a single online tournament and established a Guinness World Record with more than $27.5 million in total prize money. It was Bulgaria’s Stoyan Madanzhiev who outlasted the field of 5,802 entries to win the bracelet and the $3.9 million first-place prize. This year, even though the Main Event guarantee is scaled back from 2020’s $25 million to $20 million, seven-figure paydays await the players who make it to the end of the final table.

Players can enter up to three of the $5,000 buy-in Main Event starting flights in an attempt to make Day 2. Players who finish Day 1 with a stack, have additional entries left, and wish to take another shot can do so but only the highest chip stack will be carried over to Day 2.

“After making history last yet, WSOP Online opens up to the international poker community again this August and September,” said Daniel Negreanu. “I’m ready to join tens of thousands of poker players from all over the world at the tables, all of us aiming to take down one of those 33 gold bracelets!”

Spotlight Tournaments

In addition to the Main Event, the schedule features several marquee events including “The Return” a multi-flight $50 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $1 million guarantee which kicks off the series on August 1. Plus, the $1,500 buy-in MILLIONAIRE MAKER on August 8 promises $5 million in total prize money and a seven-figure score for the winner.

All eyes will be on a pair of high-roller events with the return of the 128-player max $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship on August 21 and the $5 million guaranteed $25K buy-in Super High Roller Championship on August 29.

For those looking for a big buy-in true freezeout tournament, the $1,050 buy-in GGMasters High Roller Freezeout on August 22 guarantees $2 million in prize money.

Satellites for the Main Event, and all tournaments, will be running around the clock on GGPoker.

Plan Accordingly

Although GGPoker is open to international players, not every country – including the United States – allows players to play on the site. To participate, players don’t need to have a permanent residence in a permissible country, like Canada or Mexico, but they do need to be located in one.

GGPoker has plans to accommodate players who relocate to an accepted territory, even with a temporary address. They have created a 2021 WSOP Online Travel Guide that lays out what players need to provide, including passport stamps and other possible verifications, to deposit, play, and withdraw any winnings.
