Over the weekend, Finland’s Europeanadded to his already impressive poker resume with a win in the PokerStars Sunday $109 Rebuyfor $48,000. He defeated almost 1,000 entrants in the process and notched his fifth largest score to date. “I feel amazing,” he told PocketFives on Monday. “It’s motivating to get such a nice score right before the biggest two weeks of my poker career kick off.”

European is referring to SCOOP, a tournament series in which he’s logged two of his three largest cashes ever that combine for $350,000. “I’m obviously very happy and the hard work is paying off,” European said of his win leading up to SCOOP. “I recently moved to Budapest and live with two really great guys, so that has helped me be more motivated to grind as well.”

European seems poised for a big run in SCOOP and beyond. Heck, we’ll pencil in him for a six-figure win right now. He recently started an MTT stable with emeriaa, Omyg0t, and pleno1. He said of his mindset, “I’m learning a lot of new things every day and it isn’t just poker-related stuff, which is nice for a change. I have to admit we are running pretty hot, have a lot of big wins, and have had plenty of deep runs within the stable.”

European is originally from Finland, but is now 2,000 kilometers south in Hungary. “I really love it here,” he said of his new digs. “It’s a beautiful city during the day and gets wild at night, which is perfect for me. I live in an apartment at the very top floor without an elevator, so that is keeping me in shape.” Hopefully he doesn’t purchase a new couch any time soon.

emeriaa(pictured) is one of the hardest working guys I know,” the recent Sunday $109 Rebuy winner told us. “He’s always up for reviewing hands if he’s not playing or in school. He’s also highly underrated and one of the names to look out for during SCOOP.” emeriaa is #48 worldwide in the PocketFives Rankings and is a breath away from hitting $4 million in career online tournament scores.

He said of pleno1, another roommate, “He is a really good friend of mine and one of the reasons I moved to Budapest. I couldn’t be in a better environment to play my best game on the tables with all of the fun I’m having off the tables. Finally, Omyg0tis one of the guys I’ve always talked to and reviewed hands with. He’s one of the funniest guys I know and has always helped me out if I’ve had a problem. On top of that, he’s inspires me with the volume he puts in and how humble he is.”

pleno1 was ranked #1 on PocketFives last year and can currently be found at #7. European was ranked as high as #3 last year and we can only assume that being surrounded by brilliant poker minds will continue to push his career forward.
