PocketFives had the opportunity to chat with one of our newest members, Butters. He lives in Nevada and has been successfully grinding on both WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker, two of the regulated sites in the state. Butters’ body of work speaks for itself. Earning over $44,000 from both sites in games with payouts of $1,000 or more for first place is not the only place you will find him grinding. Most nights, Butters is playing in an average of eight or nine tournaments. He even plays in the guaranteed PLO Hi/Lo tournaments that run every other day on WSOP.com.

PocketFives: Do you have any preference between WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker?

Butters: Ultimate Poker has the best support and cashier, while WSOP.com has the best action.

PocketFives: Where and what type of games do you frequent online?

Butters: WSOP.com – PLO cash and MTTs. Ultimate Poker – heads-up sit and gos, PLO cash, and MTTs.

PocketFives: Talk about your cash game play.

Butters: I play mostly six-max and heads-up PLO. I also play heads-up LHE and NLHE. I am bored by NLHE for the most part and find PLO to be less reggy.

PocketFives: What do you like best about playing online poker?

Butters: Heads-up action.

PocketFives: Do you have any plans to play at the Rio at the WSOP?

Butters: I’ve played a little so far with no luck. In the Millionaire Maker, I went card dead on the first bullet and lost T-T to a set when I was short on a nine-high board. On the second bullet, I had 6-6 on a flop of 2-6-9 with two clubs. I bet, he raised, I re-raised, and he flatted. The turn was a five and I bet three-fifths of the pot. He went all-in for 600 more and had 8-7 offsuit for the nuts. So far, I have had no luck, but I will be playing a few more events I’m sure. I will definitely be playing the $1,500 PLO and the Main Event. I am going to be playing some $5-$5 PLO at Rio this month as well.

PocketFives: How did you choose your player name?

Butters: I couldn’t think of a screen name and was watching “South Park.”
