PocketFives: What screen name do you use?

Budlightjoe: Isldur, I chose that name because I thought Isldur’s rise from mystery man to one of the greatest players in the world is quite the rags-to-riches story.

PocketFives: How long have you been playing online poker?

Budlightjoe: Ten years.

PocketFives: What do you base your current successes online?

Budlightjoe: Experience, knowledge of the game, knowledge of specific tournament situations aka push fold charts etc., patience, tilt control, and a little luck never hurt anyone.

PocketFives: What do you like best about playing online poker?

Budlightjoe: The convenience of being able to play poker from home. Also, I like that online tournaments have a much faster pace than live tournaments.

PocketFives: Did you play in the World Series of Poker this year?

Budlightjoe: I’ve played the WSOP the last three years for a total of five events. I cashed in 104th place in Event #42 in 2013. I also came in 54th this year in the Phamous Poker Series’ $300 buy-in tournament with 800 runners.

PocketFives: How do you prepare yourself for live tournament play?

Budlightjoe: I exercise, eat right, try to get a good night sleep, and have some different game plans ready to go based on my table.

PocketFives: Do you have any mentorsor players that help you get ready?

Budlightjoe: I have a coach (David Randall) who helps me with strategy.
