PocketFives had the opportunity to chat with Crazypauly12(pictured) aka Paul D. Lane. On WSOP.com, Paul has over $15,000 in winnings to date, not counting his cash game earnings. He has been living In Nevada for over two years. Visit PocketFives’ Nevada poker community for the latest news and discussion from Nevada players.

PocketFives: How did you choose your screen name?

Paul D Lane: I hope when I am first playing against an opponent they misjudge me. I am really not that crazy even though I will gamble at times.

PocketFives: How long have you been playing online poker?

Paul D Lane: On and off since the early 2000s. Something I have always regretted is not playing more online years ago.

PocketFives: What do you base your current successes online?

Paul D Lane: The best thing is to put in the volume. Online, you have the option to play many tournaments at once or cash games. The sad part is the player pool is a bit small here in Nevada. You have a core group of players who play pretty well, so it is hard to have a big ROI unless you are one of the top players.

I would also like to thank some poker friends I am in a group with: VPIHokie1970, ValueTown, CindrllaMan, Elllquapo, and voff. I have learned so much from these players.

PocketFives: What do you like best about playing online poker?

Paul D Lane: The comfort of playing in your own home.

PocketFives: Did you play in any 2015 WSOP events or similar that ran this summer in Las Vegas?

Paul D Lane: This year, I only played the Colossus. It was pretty standard: lost a flip a few hours in and got knocked out.

PocketFives: How do you prepare yourself for tournament play?

Paul D Lane: I have always been an avid reader and have read at least 50 poker books. I really enjoy poker videos on training sites also.

PocketFives: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Paul D Lane: One thing I really dislike from playing online is players berating other players. I take it on myself when I see a player attacking another to start in on that player to deflect from the other player. They need a policy of no tolerance of harassment.
