According to HighStakesDB, Rafi Amit (pictured), who is known as rafaelamitonline, made his return to PokerStarsin recent days after a two-year absence. As HighStakesDB put it on Thursday, “Amit, who is still one of the biggest all-time winners at PokerStars’ high-stakes tables since we started tracking, has so far proven that he hasn’t lost his touch, winning close to $180k, with $170.7k coming yesterday, making him the day’s biggest winner.”

Amit hit up PLO and Eight-Game tables as part of his comeback and began at the $400/$800 version of the latter, facing off against the likes of Alex “joiso” Kostritsyn, Ola “Odd_OddsenAmundsgard, Ravenswood13, Trueteller, Alex “BiatchPeople” Luneau, EireAbu, and SamRostan, according to HighStakesDB. He then switched over to $100/$200 PLO, profiting another $45,000 after an initial $126,000 take at Mixed Games.

HighStakesDB has tracked 206,000 hands in total for Amit, beginning in 2011. He has yet to drop into the red and was last seen at the high-stakes poker tables in the final month of 2012. He is the 27th biggest winner the tracking site has recorded and has profited $2.5 million.

Amit isn’t just an online prodigy. Instead, he has two World Series of Poker bracelets, the first of which came in 2005 in PLO. That win was good for $511,000 and, two years later, he claimed his second piece of hardware in a Deuce to Seven Triple Draw Lowball Rebuy for $227,000.

According to PokerListings, Amit’s PLO win in 2005 was especially memorable: “The Israeli player was the first and so far the only player to incur a penalty while heads-up at a WSOP final table because of swearing. The semi-pro player dropped the f-bomb and was given an automatic 10-minute penalty.”
