Last month, Filip Milovanovic (pictured), who is known on PocketFives as F1kus, was part of a four-way chop of the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up and bagged $55,000. He officially took fourth place and is now closing in on $300,000 in online tournament winnings.

“I feel great,” Milovanovic told PocketFives after the fact. “I am really happy about the whole thing.” The chop, as he reported, was “really smooth. I asked for ICM numbers and everybody agreed right away. I was really happy about it. It was a good deal for everybody.” The payouts ranged between $47,000 and $62,000.

He took home 40% of his cash and plans to use it toward higher buy-in tournaments. He said, “I had a really good start. I was near the top of the chip counts to start the tournament, but when we got to 200 players, I dropped to six big blinds. Then, I got lucky a few times and recovered my stack. When about 50 of us remained, I had a healthy stack again.”

By the time the final two tables rolled around, Milovanovic was back near the top of the leaderboard and, when 13 players remained, he was on top. PocketFivers claimed half of the Sunday Warm-Up prize pool that week.

Milovanovic is from Serbia (pictured), where he’s ranked #10, and celebrated his win by going to work at his family’s printing house six hours after the tournament ended. Bad beat! On juggling work and poker, he said, “I play when I find time, and I play on Sundays. I usually play three times per week, Turbo tournaments mostly, because of the time. It’s hard to work for eight hours and then play poker for a full session.”

He got started in poker in home games with friends a decade ago. In 2010, he deposited money online for the first time and started playing low-stakes cash games. Over time, he made it to €5/ €10 games and candidly said, “Then it got tough.” He played cash games for two years before moving over to tournaments, which he said were a lot less stressful.

The Serbia poker community on PocketFives has 475 registered members who have combined for $8.7 million in winnings all-time and $1.4 million in the last three months. Milovanovic himself has 895 tracked in the money finishes at an average of $303 apiece.
