PocketFiver Spraggs was one of the many weighing in on the social network. He posted on Thursday, “Happy to see @JohnnyBaxPoker got the job done last night. Godfather of online poker. #shipittoschnorkus.” “Bax” has been a member of our site since the very beginning and formerly taught many players the art of online poker at PokerXFactor.

Ryan ryanghallHall posted on Twitter, “This is an amazing thing to wake up to. Congratulations! ‘@JohnnyBaxPoker: We did it!'” Shawn westtexasman Rice, another “blast from the past” name, added, “Congrats to @JohnnyBaxPoker for shipping the shootout at the WSOP. Could not happen to a nicer guy!!! That’s bracelet number 2, more to come.”

Jared TheWacoKiddHamby (pictured), whom the PocketFives OT community railed at a WSOP final table last week, posted on Twitter, “Huge congrats to @JohnnyBaxPoker on his 2nd WSOP bracelet #legend.” Thanks for providing our article title, Waco. Finally, we’ll publish a comment from poker reporter Jay whojedi Newnum, who chirped, “So proud to call @JohnnyBaxPoker a good friend. Congrats on your 2nd #WSOP bracelet my man!”

Josephy is apparently heading away from Las Vegas, the site of the annual WSOP, until July. He explained, “Reading thru my timeline, I realize how many friends I have made over the years. Thx to all for your support! Back in July to PU #Bracelet2.”

Heads-up play between Josephy and Evan Silverstein stretched for 45 hands and nearly 90 minutes of real time. On the final hand of the night, which took place shortly after 11:00pm local time at the Rio, Silverstein 3bet all-in before the flop and, after asking for a count, Josephy called. Silverstein had K-10, while Josephy was out in front with A-2. An all-heart flop gave Silverstein outs to a flush, but blanks hit on the turn and river to give Josephy his second WSOP bracelet.

In a stretch of just five hands, Josephy busted two players and headed into the dinner break with two-thirds of the chips in play. He busted six of his nine final table opponents and began heads-up play with a 3:2 chip lead.

The final table of the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em Shootout featured a parade of PocketFives members, perhaps making Josephy’s victory even more impressive. Here is how the final 10 cashed out:
