Last month, Christopher NigDawGBrammer (pictured) came away with the win in the PartyPoker $100,000 Guaranteed High Roller. His reward was $28,000 and doing so meant outlasting one of the toughest final tables in a Sunday Major we’ve seen in quite some time. In fact, the group included 20th ranked Romeoproand 38th ranked Big Huni, who landed in third and seventh, respectively.

“I’m very happy,” Brammer told PocketFives when asked how he was feeling about his latest big-time tournament cash. “I never win on PartyPoker.” So what went right this time? Why was this night different from all other nights? “I think I have increased my concentration on Sundays,” he speculated, “but I obviously ran very well.”

The field of the PartyPoker High Roller numbered 244. The tournament sports a hefty $500 buy-in and Brammer told us, “I’m fairly sure I just prefer to win the most money I can. I late registered 55 minutes in because I had too many tables at the start and doubled up very quickly after flopping a set against aces. I didn’t really get going until inside the money.”

The final table was relatively beastly, and the final two tables featured four members of the top 100 on PocketFives. “It was an aggressive final table,” Brammer assessed. “There was a lot of 3betting, which is a bit unusual for PartyPoker in general.”

We asked Brammer for his thoughts on his competitors from the PocketFives community. Here’s what he had to say: “I think Romeopro (pictured) was a bit impatient. He got lucky with a large shove three- or four-handed with a bad ace that I thought was impatient at the time. That hand gave him a big chip lead, but then three-handed, he lost the chip lead in a pot to me and the very next hand shoved loads of chips in with a bad ace again and didn’t get there that time.”

It’s nearing that time of year again: the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The annual poker gathering will attract many of the game’s top minds, including Brammer, who told PocketFives, “This year, I hope to win a live tournament. I came close a couple of times last year. I just need to keep putting myself in a position to have a shot. I’m planning my WSOP schedule at the moment. I was going to go for the whole series, but then this ISPT Wembley tournament started to interest me.”

The inaugural ISPTevent has come under fire for changes to the prize pool and setup, but will still be held in London in June. Brammer explained, “It now has €1 million guaranteed for first place. That doesn’t come around very often. It recently got the backing of Dusk Till Dawn too. They may fail completely with it, but I’d like to show my support. The €1 million guaranteed for first place shows they mean business.”

Brammer had a banner 2012 at the live felts, including a fifth place finish in a $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event at the WSOP in Las Vegas for $200,000 and another fifth place finish in the WSOP Europe Main Event in Cannes for $270,000. He has nearly $1 million in live tournament earnings to his name, according to the Hendon Mob, and is #68 on the all-time money list for England.

On PocketFives, the Winchester resident is a three-time Triple Crownwinner and was #1 in the PocketFives Poker Rankingsas recently as 13 months ago. His crowning glory in the online world is finishing second in the PokerStars.fr FCOOP Main Event in late 2011 for over $230,000.
