He outlasted Full Tilt member IzabelGheads-up in the Brawl and explained that the ending was “pretty easy” due to his pressure-focused strategy and sizable 5:1 chip lead. “It was a pretty easy heads-up session,” jjokocza pointed out. “I had a 5:1 advantage or even bigger and lately I have felt really good in heads-up situations.” Accordingly, there was no chop to be had.

The Brawl just barely broke its guarantee that fateful day and a $203,000 prize pool was distributed. He explained that he was on cloud nine following his big finish: “It’s great to win one of the Sunday Majors. On Sundays, everyone has a regular session and a few other tables up and it’s difficult to do well all day long. So, I’m happy.” You can find him on Full Tilt under the user name darek1987pl and on PokerStarsunder the screen name darek12.

In March, jjokocza captured a Full Tilt Online Poker Series jersey and booked a $36,000 payday to boot. He remarked that he was feeling quite confident coming off the victory: “Each player must have scores that give him confidence, which is very important in this game. The more confidence you have in your game, the fewer bad emotions you’ll have and the less tilt you’ll have.”

He gave his initial impressions of Hold’em: “Poker looked like a game in which you had more control than, for example, sports betting or slot machines. So, I searched something about poker on the internet, got a no-deposit $50, and started gambling. My first success came really fast, as I won an $11 MTT for $500.” His riches didn’t last long, though: “The next day, I lost my whole bankroll in $0.50/$1 cash games.”

He wanted to close by saying, “My cash game loss taught me so much and gave me so much drive to stay in poker and learn more.”
