“I’m chilling and enjoying brightness, sun, and a little bit of Chang.” Must be a nice life, huh? That was the scene for PocketFives member gifuhorna, who calls Finland home and was camped out in Thailand on vacation before taking down the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy following a four-way chop two weeks ago. And in case you’re wondering, Chang is a local beer that he said was “delicious.”

“When there were about 15 players left, I won a big flip with A-Q against A-K and stayed in the tournament,” our interview subject said of his play down the stretch. “It was a pretty easy play, but an Australian guy at the final table (SwoopAE on PocketFives) was a problem for me. I think he won every pot against me. Then, someone suggested a four-way deal and everybody accepted it pretty quickly. There was still $5,000 on the line for the winner and I wanted it.”

The top five finishers in that week’s Sunday $100 Rebuy were all members of PocketFives. In fact, our community walked away with three-quarters of the prize pool and claimed nearly half of the in-the-money spots. gifuhorna admitted that he didn’t have any plans for the money right now other than saving it.

He had no setbacks transitioning from being on vacation in sunny Thailand to playing poker in the bitter cold of Finland, telling us, “It was pretty easy. I have been really focused while playing. It’s like every time I have a long break, it feels like I play better after it.” He has over 250 top three finishes in tracked online MTTs.

gifuhorna has $1.6 million in scores in his profile, including multiple final tables in the PokerStars Sunday $109 Rebuy as well as a second place finish in the PartyPoker $200,000 Guaranteed in 2012.

The Fin got started in poker playing freerolls and became overly interested in the game only three years ago. He relayed, “I played small games before that. Then, there was a Finnish Online Poker Championship that I luck-boxed for third place and $9,300. After that, I read Finnish poker forums and blogs and got really interested in MTTs.” He joined PocketFives in 2011.
