After Black Friday, a host of brand name PocketFivers headed to Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and a variety of other destinations in order to continue playing online poker. Sticking around in the US for longer than most regulars was Tim tcrames88Cramer (pictured), who has $1.2 million in online MTT winnings. We caught up with him after he final tabled the PartyPoker $200,000 Guaranteed last month.

“I am not a huge fan of the new payout structure on Party,” Cramer told PocketFives when asked about his runner-up finish for $16,000. “However, the players are so poor there that I am obviously not going to miss a Major.”

When asked what specifically he dislikes about the payout structure on PartyPoker, Cramer said that the top 20% of the field finishes in the money. For example, when he finished second, 216 players cashed out of the 1,031 who entered. “A 1,000-person, $200 Major should pay more than $27,000 to first, but I think in the long-run it may keep some more players around.”

In February, Cramer finished second in the Full Tilt Super Sized Sunday for $27,000 and said of the year so far, “Things have been going okay. I definitely blasted off this SCOOP, so it was nice to get a solid score to heal some wounds.” The day he finished second in the PartyPoker $200K, for example, he spent $12,000 on buy-ins; as he put it, “It would have been a really brutal day without that score.”

Cramer is originally from Orange County, California and grinds online in San Antonio Del Mar in Mexico (pictured), which is about two-and-a-half hours away. He had planned to relocate earlier than he did, but remained in the US before realizing he was “missing way too much value. I have been putting in a ton of hours too. I typically take off Friday and Saturday to spend time with family and friends. They are very supportive and it is nice that I still get to see them at least twice a month.”

He added, “When I’m back in the States, I just relax and hang out with friends. I play a lot of golf and basketball and hang out on the beach.” By the way, if you’re considering relocating, check out Poker Refugees.

Cramer is #181 in the world in the PocketFives Poker Rankingsand #1 in his hometown. His all-time high in the Rankings was #135, set earlier this year, and he plays on the world’s largest online poker site, PokerStars, as Tamiam122.

He got started in poker after depositing on PartyPoker and eventually running his bankroll up to $30,000. He said, “I then took a few years off to focus on school and eventually returned back to playing full-time.”
