For the second time in two months, Simon Ronnow Pedersen (pictured), known on PocketFives as IgorK, has won a PocketFives Triple Crown. This time around, his Triple Crown quest began on December 8 with a win in the William Hill €25,000 Grand Tuesday for $6,600 and 170 PLB Points. That tournament drew 154 entrants and Pedersen was one of three members of our community to cash in it.

Five days later, Pedersen won the Winamax High Roller, a tournament that has a $300 buy-in and drew a field of 181. He was one of two PocketFivers to make the money in the High Roller and bagged over $13,000 along with 231 PLB Points. The same day, he final tabled the Bigger $162 over on PokerStars. Despite the fact it wasn’t a win and therefore not a qualifying Triple Crown score, he still earned $16,000.

His final Triple Crown win came on December 15, seven days after win number one, in the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Cubed. He earned almost $6,000 and 160 PLB Points. That tournament had a field of 122 entrants and winning it meant his second Triple Crown all-time and his second in the last two months.

Pedersen now has 98 career wins in tournaments PocketFives tracks and is fresh off winning a Triple Crown on November 16 after wins on PartyPoker, PokerStars, and 888 for a total of 497 PLB Points.

Pedersen calls Arhus, Denmark home and has helped his home country amass a total of 34 PocketFives Triple Crowns over the years. The Dane told PocketFives shortly after winning his second Triple Crown, “It’s pretty wicked. I had been hunting the first Triple Crown for a long time, so to get two in one month describes how good the last month, actually the last three months, have been. I have made a lot of deep runs in tournaments with hard fields, so it feels awesome to close many of them when there is so much though competition.”

Pederson is fresh off a 2015 calendar year in which he recorded four of his five largest scores to date:

September 27: Second place in the PokerStars $109 Rebuy for $35,000
May 10: First place in the PartyPoker Sunday Major for $32,000
September 15: First place in the 888 Volcano for $31,000
November 17: Fifth place in the PokerStars Super Tuesday for $27,000

If you’re not familiar with the award, a Triple Crown requires a player to win three tournaments across three sites tracked for the PocketFives Rankings within the same seven-day period. Each tournament must have a prize pool of at least $10,000, each tournament must have at least 100 players, each tournament must have a buy-in of at least $0.01, and satellites do not count.
