We’re only two-and-a-half weeks into 2014 and already Viktor Isildur1Blom (pictured) is up $1 million at the cash game tables, according to HighStakesDB. In fact, Blom is the biggest winner of the young year so far and helped his cause by pulling in $813,000 on Friday alone. He was up $1.7 million on the week.

HighStakesDB narrated, “After a $64.5K win over AtherCliathat $2K/$4K 2-7 Triple Draw, Isildur1 went on to win circa $150K over the next three hours playing in $200/$400 CAP PLO ring and $300/$600 Heads-Up games. Blom initially hit half-a-million in winnings for the day after winning $289K against PostflopActionas the pair once more resumed hostilities at the $1,500/$3,000 Eight-Game tables.”

The largest pot Blom recorded during the day on Friday was worth $130,000 and came in a $300/$600 No Limit Omaha game courtesy of PostflopAction, according to HighStakesDB. The pot was 5bet pre-flop to bring a board of 10-4-8, rainbow. Blom check-raised to $63,000 and PostflopAction called all-in. When the cards were revealed, Blom showed 5s-10s-Jh-Ah for a pair of tens, while PostflopAction tabled Ad-Qd-8h-Kh for a pair of eights.

The pair agreed to run the turn and river twice, with a 5d-3h on the first go-around giving half of the pot to Blom with two pair. The second turn and river were As-9s, shipping the other half of the pot to Blom, with the final haul totaling $130,000.

After a few other run-ins during the day on Friday, Blom dove headlong into a six-hour session against SallyWoo. HighStakesDB narrated, “Isildur1 quickly took a $200K lead in the match and despite an hour-long comeback from SallyWoo where he managed to take back $100K, Blom never lost the lead in the match. For the remainder of the match, Isildur1 slowly but surely built up more and more of a lead, finally ending up with a $410.7K win.”

Blom is the first player to pass $1 million in profit in 2014. Since HighStakesDB began tracking him in late 2009, the Swede is down over $600,000 at the cash game tables. He is in the red $3.22 million lifetime in Pot Limit Omaha and up $3.7 million lifetime in Draw Games.
