Melbourne, Australia’s Jackie Glazier finished second in a $3,000 No Limit Hold’em event during the 2012 World Series of Poker and raked in nearly a half-million dollars. The following year, Glazier made a deep run in the WSOP Main Event, entering Day 6 of the seven-day tournament as the Last Woman Standing.

She sat in 12th place with 68 players remaining and watched as top female players like Annette Annette_15 Obrestad, Beverly Lange, Kima Kimura, Estelle Denis, and Kristy Gazes hit the deck as play wore on. Glazier has plenty of experience in the Main Event, as in 2012, she turned in a 284th place finish and was among the contenders for Last Woman Standing. ESPN followed her quite a bit as the final females were eliminated. At the time of the 2013 WSOP Main Event, Glazier was representing IveyPoker.

Glazier ultimately hit the rail on Day 6 of the 2013 WSOP Main Event in 31st place for $229,000. She was just four spots away from reaching Day 7.

She has several live poker tournament wins to her name, including an AUD $500 PLO event as part of ANZPT Sydney in March 2013, a $1,070 No Limit Hold’em event during the Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza in July 2011, and an AUD $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max event in October 2010 during ANZPT Melbourne. She definitely has the chops to compete down the stretch in any big tournament like the WSOP Main Event and has made the money three of the last four years in the tournament.

Glazier was very active on Twitter throughout her run in the 2013 Main Event in Las Vegas. She Tweeted when holding the 12th place stack that she was very appreciative of all of the support from afar: “I am feeling the love all the way from Melbourne. The support from players and staff is the best in the world! Xxx.” She also Tweeted a comment from Barny Boatman that read, “What the game needs now is a great woman champion. @JackieGlazier @kristygazes @Annette_15,” adding, “Totally agree.”

No woman has made the final table of the WSOP Main Event since Barbara Enright in 1995.
