A member of the PocketFives community, Jan hownorez Nakladal entered Day 7 of the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event with a 5.36 million-chip stack, good for 17th place of the remaining 27 players. The 2013 WSOP has been the “coming out” party for Nakladal, whose previous success has been in the online arena.

Nakladal’s only live tournament score came in 2012 in a tournament in his native Czech Republic (Nakladal calls Olomouc, Czech Republic, home), when he finished in 26th place in the XXXL Deepstack Main Event in Rozvadov. That finish earned him a tidy €1,793 in pocket cash, which has been blown away by his work in Las Vegas. Even if Nakladal were to have been the first elimination of Day 7, the $285,408 score would be his all-time career high live cash.

Where Nakladal honed his skills has been in the online arena. Playing under hownorez at Titan Poker and 2kingsin1hand at Full Tilt Poker, Nakladal has been able to earn over $350,000 in his online career. According to the PocketFives Poker Rankings, he was the 830th ranked player in the world and #17 on the Czech Republic when Day 7 of the 2013 Main Event began.

Nakladal’s Day 6 was an adventure, as he faced elimination during the evening action. He moved all-in over Amir Lehavot and Philip Long and, after Long was the only player to come along, was in a huge lead with his Big Slick over Long’s Big Chick. There was never a threat to Nakladal double up on the ten-high flop and turn and, after an unnecessary ace came on the river, Nakladal was up to 3.9 million in chips.

He ultimately landed in 18th place in the Main Event and earned $357,000.
