According to the description on eBay from the seller, whose user name is polareyezd, “This is the watch won by Jerry Yang at the 2007 World Series of Poker. It was made by Corum specifically for the 2007 WSOP Main Event. On the clasp is engraved the words ‘2007 WSOP Main Event Final Table.’ The watch is in excellent condition, the glass of the watch face is flawless, and there are only a couple of minor scratches on the case, nearly invisible without a magnifying glass.”

You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Is polareyezd actually Jerry Yang?” Not so, as the seller said he came to possess the watch via a tax auction: “I purchased this watch at an IRS seizure auction last year in Sacramento, California and have the paperwork that shows it was seized from Jerry Yang for non-payment of taxes and sold to me… The watch retails by Corum for more than $9,000, and that is without the provenance of having been won during the World Series of Poker Main Event.”

This is the seller’s first item put up on eBay. He became a member of the auction site on July 17.

In May 2013, PocketFives brought you an article about the IRS seizing 16 pieces of Yang’s property to settle unpaid taxesin California and at the Federal level. Among the items auctioned off were his Main Event bracelet as well as the Corum watch. Several pieces of jewelry were also up for grabs. Read the listing.

According to our original article, “In 2007, the IRS put a Notice of Federal Tax Lien totaling $571,894.54 and repeated the same amount the next year. On top of that, there is a $461.11 Federal tax lien for 2012, meaning that Yang(pictured) owes the Federal Government either $572,355.65 or $1,144,250.19 if the 2007 and 2008 liens are combined.”

According to the Hendon Mob, Yang has cashed for $200,000 in live poker tournaments not named the 2007 WSOP Main Event.
