On the first Sunday of August, Jordan Jymaster0011Young made online poker headlines when he took down the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 Guaranteeand Sunday Brawl on the same night for $132,800 and $105,000, respectively. The two cashes were worth nearly $240,000 combined. As an encore, Young took down the Full Tilt $150 Rebuy for another $79,000 on August 30th for well over $300,000 in earnings online last month. This week, he joins the PocketFives.com Podcastto answer listener questions submitted by Poker Discussion forum members.

How does it feel to win not one, but two Sunday Majors on the same day? Young told the PocketFives.com Podcast, “It felt amazing. It was kind of unreal for the first few days. I was kind of in shock and it hadn’t set in. Over the years of playing and playing and playing all the time, I didn’t really have anything I could look at and say, ‘This is where all the hard work paid off.’ These two huge scores give me some credibility because people look at this profession a little differently than they do a regular profession.”

Young owns the ninth spot in the Poker Player Rankings on the strength of the second best PLB score worldwide. He’s lapped the $1 million mark in Rankings-eligible cashes and explained that he’s been played back at more and more on the virtual felts: “Over the past month, I’ve been getting played back at more and more and more because people realize how aggressively I play, so I’ve had to adjust a little bit. I’ve been getting 4bet more, so I may have to 5bet a little bit. It seems like everyone is trying to bluff me right now, so I’ve had to adjust. I’ve just had to be conscious that people are trying to put moves on me all the time.”

Who gives him fits? Is there anyone in the online poker community that can possibly frustrate the #9 player in all the land? Young singled out two tough competitors: “Chris moorman1Moorman is one of them. Mark dipthrong Herm (pictured) hasn’t been playing a lot lately, but it seems like whenever I’m playing against him, I always find myself in really tough spots. I think he’s a great player. I really like his style and how he plays. He keeps you right on your toes.” Moorman and Herm sit at #14 and #28, respectively, in the Rankings.

Given his expertise, one wonders whether we’ll see Young produce videos for a poker training site like CardRunnersor PokerXFactor. “I haven’t done any coaching yet,” Young revealed. “I’m feeling out my options there. I’ve had a couple of offers for some videos and I might do that in the future. I’m just kind of leaving my options open right now.”

Finally, Young is, by his own admission, a LAG player. He claims to have a similar playing style to Moorman (pictured) and remarked, “It’s definitely not really easy to play a lot of tables and play really LAG like I do, but I tend to adjust a little bit. You can’t just run really good players over all the time. You have to slow down and that’s something I am learning more and more.” It’s hard to believe that he debuted in the Rankings in July and has already vaulted into the top 10.
