Kyle KJulius10Julius (pictured, image courtesy PokerStars) and Faraz The-ToiletJaka both joined PocketFives in the second half of 2006. Both have over $2 million in tracked online poker earnings and both own a Triple Crown. Oh yeah, and both have previously cracked the top 30 of the prestigious PocketFives Rankings. Coincidence? Maybe. On Friday night, Julius and Jaka finished 2-3 in the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event.

Jaka and Julius began the eight-handed final table with the largest and second largest chip stacks, respectively. In the first major fireworks of the final table, after a raise from Julius, Ruben Visser 3bet all-in with pocket sixes and Julius insta-called with A-Q for a race. The flop of Q-K-2 hit Julius hard and a running 7-8 trimmed the PCA Main Event final table to seven players. Visser picked up $156,000 from the $10,000 buy-in tournament, which attracted 1,072 players, and finished in eighth place.

David Bernstein ran pocket fours into the pocket aces of John Dibella on his final hand in the Bahamas. Neither player improved when the board ran out 10-8-7-3-5 and Bernstein finished in seventh place for $260,000. Shortly thereafter, Anthony Gregg suffered the same fate after running A-10 of spades into Xuan Liu‘s A-Q. Gregg did pick up a flush draw by the turn, but the river was a blank and he was sent packing.

Mark Drover then 3bet all-in before the flop and Jaka (pictured), the original raiser in the hand, called and showed two sixes. Drover flipped up K-J and the race was on. The board rolled out 2-10-5-7-A and Drover busted out in fifth place for $468,000. Following Drover’s elimination, Julius and Jaka were each over 10 million in chips, while Dibella and Liu sat at only five million.

Dibella promptly doubled through Jaka, but “The-Toilet” returned the favor by cracking Dibella’s aces for a double up of his own. Liu then hit the deck in fourth place after open-shoving with A-7 of diamonds. Jaka made the call with A-6 and was behind until he found two pair on the flop. Liu was drawing to seven outs by the river, but none came and the lone female at the 2012 PCA Main Event final table earned an even $600,000.

Julius doubled up courtesy of his fellow PocketFiver Jaka, who busted out after his A-J could not withstand K-10. Jaka picked up just over three-quarters of a million dollars, which was his first six-figure live cash since 2009, according to the Hendon Mob. Jaka made two World Poker Tour final tables that year and is now up to over $3 million in live tournament cashes.

Dibella (pictured) and Julius struck a deal to chop the tournament’s prize pool evenly. PokerNews outlined, “There’s still $3.275 million left on the table for the two men, and they’ve decided to take $1.5 million apiece off the top and lock it up in the bank. The other $275,000 will be the winner’s purse, and whichever of them ends up as champion will be a well deserving one.” The champ would also receive a trophy and a shiny new bracelet.

In the final hand of the Main Event, Julius’ chips went in with 9-6 and Dibella called with 6-5 of clubs on a board of A-Q-3-8-10 with three clubs. Dibella, an amateur, banked over $1.7 million, while Julius earned $1.5 million. Here’s how the final eight cashed out:

1. John Dibella – $1,775,000
2. Kyle KJulius10Julius – $1,500,000
3. Faraz The-Toilet Jaka – $755,000
4. Xuan Liu – $600,000
5. Mark Drover – $468,000
6. Anthony Gregg – $364,000
7. David Bernstein – $260,000
8. Ruben Visser – $156,400

Members of PocketFives were following the action from the 2012 PCA finale in a Live Poker thread. The original poster in the thread, ThaSlosh23, relayed an interesting story about one of the players: “Interesting side note: David Bernstein, who is currently 4/18, was my Jewish summer camp counselor when I was 9 years old. He won a seat through a UKash deposit bonus, and is now guaranteed a $52K payday.”

Congrats to Julius and Jaka on their strong PCA Main Event showings. Visit PokerStars for full details.
