A third title sees Lev Gottlieb eclipse $1.1 million in series winnings.

A super Saturday in the GGPoker Spring Festival saw over $2 million awarded in prizes across six High lebel events. There were three players and two PocketFivers who picked up their maiden GGSF titles whilst Lev Gottlieb captured his third first place finish of the series.

It was only two days ago that Pocket Five Senior Writer Jeff Walsh pointed out the rarity of a player winning three titles in the same series like SCOOP 2021 star Dejan Kaladurdevic. Well proverbial lightening has stricken twice as this feat has quickly been emulated over at GG Poker in its spring flagship tournament series.

Lev Gottlieb dominated Day 3 of the GGPoker Spring Festival, notching victories in both Event #5-H ($10,300 Super MILLION$) and Event #15-H ($10,300 Super Tuesday) for a days taking of over $900,000. Gottlieb, who last summer took down the $10,000 Short Deck No Limit Hold’em Championship in the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events for $276,393.39 and a gold bracelet, continued to show he was force to be reckoned with across several poker variants. He completed his hat-trick of series titles, this time being the last man standing in Event #35-H ($10,300 PLO-NL High Roller) for $199,770.92. This takes his earnings for the Series over the $1.1 million mark.

The 69 player field generated a prize pool of $690,000 with Event #27-H ($2,100 Bounty) champion, Chris Rudolph taking second place for $144,438.31. The third place payout of $104,431.80 went to Eelis Parssinen, in addition to the $180,439.06 the player had already won following their win in Event #33-H ($5,250 PLO-NL Bounty). Parssinen’s PLO plunder came at the expense of runner-up ‘jochee’ who earned $61,471.52 for their efforts. With Wei Zhao adding a slightly less $57,597.45 to their bankroll.

A total of $2,216,000 in prizes was awarded across the six High level events,. The first player who took a chunk of change from that money was Michael ‘SirWatts’ Watson. The Canadian poker player, bested 242 other entries over two days to be crowned the winner of Event #28-H ($1,050 High Rollers Main Event). The $52,176.54 prize now takes Watson’s career live and online earnings to just $10,000 shy of $20 million.

The next two events, both of which had an overlay, catered to the Asian time zone. Event #31-H ($210 Bounty Hunters Asia) winner ‘dajingjing’ took home their first title of the Series and the $23,715.30 first place prize. The event saw a total of 670 entries with ‘gokchinees!’ and ‘BIG NASTY’ finishing in second and third place for $15,220.27 and $10,808.11 respectively.

Event #32-H ($525 Asia Major), had a prize pool of $300,000 with 592 entries. Dalton ‘dalthonhb’ Hobold playing under the alias ‘Morgota’ joined Watson as the second PocketFiver to achieve poker glory by topping the field for $50,852 taking his online career earnings to $2,557,517. A second place for Timothy Ulmer saw $38,143.49 head his way with ‘Apowers1968’ taking home $28,603.58 for third.

In the last event of the day ‘FivebetGAMER’ won $26,650.16 for outlasting 321 other entries in Event #36 ($525 Bounty Hunter [6-Max]_. RaiseYourEdge course maker and PocketFiver Joshua ‘slayerv1fan’ Hoesel was on the losing side of the heads up battle for $21,462 and the player to round off the podium finishes for the day was Aleksei Barkov. The Russian poker pro secured a five figure payday with a pay out of $11,678.55.

Other winners on Saturday included ‘Fireball’ (Event #31-L), ‘pokepwr’ (Event #31-M), ‘mikuseni’ (Event #32-L), ‘Insktinkt’ (Event #32-M), ‘LunaLove11’ (Event #33-L), ‘Biezpienelis’ (Event #33-M), ‘SAPCpokeranimmal’ (Event #34-L), ‘PieOMy’ (Event #34-M), ‘Gergo Nagy’ (Event #35-L), Amichai Barer (Event #35-M), ‘justdontcry’ (Event #36-L), Jack Salter (Event #36-M).
