Mark Johns takes the top spot for the third straight month in Nevada

For the third straight month, Mark ‘wsopfreezer’ Johns claimed the top spot in the PocketFives Nevada Online Poker Rankings. The rest of the leaderboard saw some movement among the familiar names who have been dominating the Nevada online poker scene for the better part of the year, but after yet another solid month from Johns, he keeps his seat at the front of the class.

After seemingly taking some time off during the later parts of September, Johns picked it back up in October. He won tournaments on three consecutive days on WSOP.com to close out the first week of the month. He took home seven titles total over the course of the month with a handful of four-figure scores.

Johns’ best score of the month came in a runner-up finish, however, in the $5,000 guaranteed No Limit Hold’em Super Deepstack (Re-Entry) event for $1,395.

Chaos Theory and CloverSparklesFartShovels both made strides throughout October to crack the top three spots. CloverSparkesFartShoves was tied with James ‘VintageATL’ Piccolo for the biggest jump in the standings.

They both jumped three spots, with CloverSparklesFartShovels jumping from sixth to third and Piccolo jumping from ninth to sixth. CloverSparklesFartShovels only had 13 cashes and three wins for the entire month of October, but he made his scores count. He took home $4,000 for a runner-up finish in the $20,000 guaranteed Fall Poker Festival event on WSOP.com and had two other four-figure scores, including a win in the $5,000 guaranteed Weekend Warm-Up for $2,054.

ChaosTheory put together another strong month, with lots of volume spread out between the Winning Poker Network and WSOP.com. He jumped two spots from fourth to second this month.

With so many players making big strides, some players had to fall. For the first time in several months, Ian ‘APokerJoker2’ Steinman dropped out of the top three spots, sitting in fourth place on the leaderboard.

Bobby ‘bcm4924’ McLawhorn rounds out the top five this month. He fell three spots from second to fifth.

Piccolo starts the second half of the list and has been continuing his surge up the rankings. He started off October on the right foot by winning two tournaments on the same day on the third day of the month. He also finished second in another event that day to bring his total winnings for that day alone to over $3,500. He continued his strong results throughout the rest of the month, finishing up with six wins and 10 top three finishes.

Behind Piccolo were several names that are very familiar to this list. David ‘MastAAce08’ Goodman finished seventh, Daniel ‘voff’ Devau finished eighth, and Jed ‘JCHAK’ Hoffman finished ninth. All three players slide at least one spot this month.

The one newcomer to the leaderboard rounded out the list, finishing in 10th. Wesley ‘ESCAPE595’ LeMahieu just missed out on cracking the top 10 last month, but jumped into the top 10 this month. He put on a proverbial clinic throughout the month. He cashed 41 times, all on WSOP.com, with eight wins.

LeMahieu’s best score of the month came when he took down the $3,000 guaranteed nightly No Limit Hold’em for $1,560 to finish out the second week of October. With another couple months like this, LeMahieu could be a force to be reckoned with much higher up on the leaderboard.
