Mark Johns continues to lead the way in Nevada

In a nearly identical ranking from last month, Mark ‘wsopfreezer’ Johns spends his second straight month atop the Nevada Poker Rankings and is the top online tournament player for the month of September.

There were no new players able to break into the rankings this month and aside from a little movement near the bottom of the top 10, eight of the 10 spots remained consistent with last month’s results.

Johns was the only player to finish with more than 2,000 points and had another solid month on the virtual felt. Johns finished the month with 22 cashes and earned three wins. His biggest score of the month was winning the $3,000 guaranteed nightly with rebuys and add-ons on WSOP.com for $2,000.

Despite not recording a cash in the final 12 days of the month, presumably taking some time off from poker, Johns’ strong start to the month was enough to keep him on top.

The top seven spots remained unchanged from last month. Bobby ‘bcm4924’ McLawhorn spends a second straight month in the runner-up spot and Ian ‘APokerJoker2’ Steinman comes up third again.

Steinman is one of the highest volume grinders in Nevada and it shows with another strong showing in September.
He cashed an astonishing 78 times in the month span, but his average cashes were smaller than Johns’ or he would have ran away with a top finish.

Steinman came out of the proverbial gates fast, earning a win in the $1,250 guaranteed deepstack with rebuys and add-ons on WSOP.com for $530 on the second day of the month. He found himself in the winner’s circle eight times and netted his biggest score of the month when he took down the $3,000 guaranteed six-max with rebuys and add-ons on WSOP.com for $1,185.

ChaosTheory and David ‘MastAAce08’ Goodman round out the top half of the rankings again. Most players in Nevada tend to put in the majority of their volume on WSOP.com, but these two players put most of their volume in on Americas Cardroom which is part of the Winning Poker Network.

ChaosTheory scored two, four-figure scores on ACR. He finished fourth in the PHAT BIG10 with a $30,000 guaranteed prizepool for $2,459, and finished 10th in the Sunday Special with a $115,000 guaranteed prizepool for $2,098.

CloverSparkesFartShovels cracked the top 10 a few months ago and looks to be a mainstay in the rankings moving forward. He took down four tournaments on WSOP.com and earned four, four-figure scores on the site. The biggest of which came in a second place finish in the Sunday Reloader for $2,282.

Daniel ‘voff’ Devau finishes the month in the seventh spot for the third straight month and Jed ‘JCHAK’ Hoffman made the only upward movement in the top 10. After cracking the rankings last month in 10th, he jumped two spots to eighth.

Hoffman can credit his upward movement to his two wins on WSOP.com. His biggest cash came when he took down the $3,000 guaranteed nightly with rebuys and add-ons for $1,945.

James ‘VintageATL’ Piccolo and DatDude round out the top 10 for the month.
