Another successful live tournament series is in the books for partypokerLIVE A total of 820 players took their shot in the €1,100 partypoker LIVE MILLION Germany Main Event, and when all was said and done it was the Czech Republic’s Michal Mrakeš who finished on top, cashing for €200,000.

Mrakeš entered the final table seventh of nine in chips, having come in to the third and final day as the chip leader. A series of lost flips saw his chip stack dwindle, but as we all know, anything can happen at a final table.

When it got down to nine, here’s how they stacked up as reported by PokerNews:

1. Sonay Kehya (Germany) – 11,700,000
2. Frederic Femont (Belgium) – 7,250,000
3. Natalia Briviglieri (United Kingdom) – 12,200,000
4. Michal Mrakeš (Czech Republic) – 6,750,000
5. Raul Cuc (Germany) – 12,425,000
6. Sandro Pitzanti (Netherlands) – 5,525,000
7. Sliverer (Germany) – 4,450,000
8. Eddy Scharf (Germany) – 11,900,000
9. Grzegorz Gosk (Poland) – 9,250,000

Those in the know will have clocked a few notable names on that list: Germany’s Eddy Scharf has two WSOP bracelets to his name, while Poland’s Grzegorz Gosk has several live titles under his belt, including an Estrellas Ibiza Main Event for €92K. Natalia Briviglieri is also a sponsored partypoker player.

It would take more than three hours of nine-handed play before the final table had its first casualty. Scharf’s pocket eights held up against Frederic Femont’s ace-six to eliminate the Belgian, quickly followed by an epic hot streak from Mrakeš which saw his stack rise from 4 million to 18 million.

The next to fall were Sliverer, whose ace-queen couldn’t hit against Sandro Pitzanti’s pocket nines; followed by Sonay Kehya and Briviglieri, who busted simultaneously in the same hand to Mrakeš after his pocket kings held against their king-jack and ace-nine.

With five remaining, Raul Cuc met his demise after his pocket jacks were sucked out on by the ace-six of Pitzanti. And then it was the two-time bracelet winner Scharf who fell in fourth. He found himself all in with pocket jacks on a queen-ten-seven flop, and lost against the jack-nine held by Mrakeš.

The eventual winner had half of the chips in play three-handed, putting him in a desirable position. It’s no surprise, then, that no deal could be agreed upon.

Mrakeš domination continued to heads up, after he eliminated partypoker qualifier Gosk in third. The Pole got it in good with ace-five versus king-nine, but couldn’t hold.

The heads up play didn’t last long, what with Mrakeš holding a 7:1 chip lead. In the final hand it was pocket eights against Pitzanti’s queen-ten, and an eight on the flop ended it all.

This is the largest career score to date for Mrakeš, who now has more than €800K in live tournament earnings. His previous biggest result came from a third place finish in the WPT National Brussels for just shy of $49K.
