Ivan Banic continues to move toward cracking the top 10 of the PocketFives Rankings for the first time in his career (WSOP photo)

Even though the Swedish contingent continues to dominate the top of the PocketFives Rankings, that hasn’t stopped players from other countries from doing their best to dethrone the likes of ‘C Darwin2‘ or ‘lena900‘.

Ivan ‘Banicivan’ Banic, the #1-ranked player from Croatia, continues to move up the worldwide rankings and this past week hit an all-time personal night of #16. Banic had himself quite the week. He won the 888poker Crocodile , the 888poker Sunday Lightning and a PokerStars $320 Six Max, finished seventh in a partypoker High Roller, third in the 888poker Hurricane and then wrapped up the week taking down the Crocodile for a second time.

Banic wasn’t the only player to reach a new high this past week. Ten other players also found themselves celebrating a career-best ranking inside of the top 100.

Two of those players hit the top 100 for the first time: ’22ehnutzz’ (#67) and ‘etxnl01‘ (#94).

Polish Royalty Adds to Resume

Sphinx87‘, the #1-ranked player in Poland, broke through the $2,000,000 earnings mark thanks to a seventh-place finish in a partypoker High Roller event on July 16.

He’s not one of just six Polish players to have hit that mark. The all-time leading Polish earner is ‘lukro8’ with $3,530,060.34.

‘serioga112’ Joins Million Dollar Club

While ‘Sphinx87’ was moving up a tier in the seven-figure club, Sere ‘serioga112’ El Hage joined it for the first time. The #1-ranked player in Lebanon won the PokerStars Hot $215 on July 15 to collect $6,774 and become the second Lebanese player and the 1,676th player to earn at least $1,000,000 in online tournaments.
