Over the last few years, players from Brazil have had an amazing ride in the PocketFives Rankings. Joao Mathias Baumgarten, Yuri Martins, Joao Simao and Caio Pessagno have all held down the #1 spot in the world at some point and it appears they may have company very soon.

Renato Almeida Prado Valentim, known online as ‘bauruzito‘, continues to move up the Rankings and this past week found himself at an all-time high at #16. That’s up two spots from the previous week. He’s now the second-highest ranked Brazilian behind Simao, who is currently #13 in the world.

His upward move could mostly be attributed to his runner-up finish in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up on May 28. He earned $35,508 and added 376.12 PLB points to his total. He picked up three more qualifying cashes last week as well to bring his total PLB points earned for the week to 782.9.

Valentim wasn’t the only player to jump into the top 20 for the first time though. Russia’s ‘Ti0‘ went from #21 to #19 and is the second Russian currently in the top 20 along with ‘hellohellohello‘ who is just ahead of him at #18.

Other players to reach career high marks inside the top 100 include ‘nilsef‘ (#35), Pablo ‘pabritz’ Brito Silva (#52), ‘Apotheosis‘ (#57), Akash ‘funwheel’ Majumdar (#59) and, cracking the top 100 for the first time in his career, ‘Perfect1232‘ (#73).

Finland’s ‘gifuhorna’ Latest $3 million Man

Even though he’s currently ranked just outside of the top 1,000 players in the world, Finland’s ‘gifuhorna‘ still managed to find himself breaking through a major career milestone this past week.

Thanks to a string of moderate-sized cashes over the past seven days, ‘gifuhorna’ managed to surpass $3,000,000 in career earnings. There are just 3033 players to have hit that number over the course of their career.

There were three other players who managed to finally join the seven-figure club; ‘nandinhojah’, ‘guix2x’ and ‘kyleeeOMC‘.
