Nevada Weekday Tournament Review for February 28, 2014
Dominating the news this week in Nevada is the awarding of 2014 World Series of Poker seats valued at $1,500 each. WSOP.com is putting up three of these a week, building interest in the upcoming series as well as the online poker site itself through these promotions.
WSOP.com ran three of its four $3,000 events as scheduled. On Wednesday, the site ran a special satellite for two $1,500 seats to the 2014 WSOP. All of the events exceeded the guarantees. There were 273 runners with a total prize pool of $17,255 and 38 spots being paid. The players with the highest valued prizes won were BeTheLightand Kryptonite1, each winning a $1,500 seat to an upcoming 2014 WSOP event.
This makes the second $1,500 seat that BeTheLight has won this month. With over 24 events at the 2014 WSOP in the $1,500 price range, these tickets could be the way to getting a tremendous payday.
This week, Ultimate Poker held four tournaments, the $2,500 Nightly events. There were 163 runners generating a prize pool of $15,697.50 and paying a total of 23 spots. The highest cash this week went to AC Slater for $1,683.50. AC Slater won a WSOP Main Event seat last weekend and was the biggest winner on Ultimate Poker, so he has certainly been on a hot streak.
luckisreal (pictured above), recently interviewed by PocketFives, continued to show strong results, taking down the Tuesday Nightly $2,500 event. This follows a string of successful outings on Ultimate Poker.
