In the end, the PocketFives #1 Number One competition became another chance for Niklas ‘lena900’ Astedt to prove his dominance.

Over the last six weeks, poker fans around the world voted on social media on individual matchups of all 60 former #1-ranked PocketFivers with the player receiving the most votes advancing to the next subsequent round.

Astedt defeated Chris Moorman in the finals by grabbing 54.3% of the 4,898 votes to take down the title and earn himself a championship belt. That win was the closest of Astedt’s six matches as he easily breezed through the first five rounds of play before going head-to-head with Moorman in the final.

Those who have followed the Swedish superstar’s career probably aren’t too surprised by the manner in which he earned this title. Over the course of his career, Astedt has spent 97 weeks as the #1-ranked online poker player in the world – 23 weeks more than any other player – and he is one of just three players with more than $20 million in tracked lifetime online earnings with $22.2 million.

‘Ming’ Dominates Bracket Competition

The former #1s weren’t the only ones battling it out throughout this competition. The same poker fans who were voting were also given the opportunity to enter a predictions bracket with more than $2,000 in prizes up for grabs.

User ‘Ming’ correctly predicted 55 of the 63 matchups and earned 1,150 points to take the top spot earning a Run It Once Training – Pads on Pads Course, a Faded Spade Four Color 2.0 Deck, and a Run Good Gear T-Shirt. ‘Ming’ correctly predicted who the final four competitors would be and had the winner of each semi-final correct.

Runner-up Jason ‘WackyJaxon’ Glatzer finished with 1,040 points after correctly predicting 53 of the matchups. Glatzer walks away with a $100 Gift Card from D&B Poker, a Run It Once Training 1-Month Essential Membership, a Faded Spade Four Color 2.0 Deck, and a Run Good Gear T-Shirt. Glatzer correctly predicted three of the four semi-finalists.

However, both had Moorman winning the competition.

The top 20 users all earned prizes from the competition’s sponsors Run It Once Training, D&B Poker, Faded Spade Cards, and Run Good Gear.
