It seems that not a week goes by that another Brazilian poker player emerges from the massive online fields to make a name of themselves. The poker-mad country continues to produce top-end online talent and in June, one of the players who shined brightest was Saymon ‘saymon9’ Dias do Nascimento.

One Event, One Win, One Huge Score

Dias only had one cash on 888poker in June, but he absolutely made it count. He outlasted 639 entries in the $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep on June 14 to win $18,890. That’s the fourth-largest score of his career and pushed him past $1,000,000 in lifetime earnings.

While Dias made it to the top of the earnings list with a single cash, Christopher ‘makkapakk’ Johnson did it a different way. The UK-grinder finished with the second-highest earnings on 888poker for the month taking home $17,371.71 by cashing in 20 different tournaments. That number was boosted by a pair of victories on June 14. He earned $3,750 for winning the $20,000 Mini Mega Deep and then another $5,719 for winning the $25,000 Sunday Challenge.

The final place on the podium went to Germany’s ‘LIK3az0mbY’ with $16,113.23 thanks to 24 total cashes. Despite having two wins on the month, their biggest score actually came from a runner-up finish. ‘LIK3az0mbY’ outlasted all but one entry in the 126-player field in the $15,000 Mega Deep on June 10 to earn $3,024.

Cashing in MTTs 101

Despite earning 20 and 24 cashes respectively, neither Johnson or ‘LIK3az0mbY’ made their way into the top 10 total cashes for the month. For the second straight month, Dutch grinder ‘HeateN’ topped the most cashes list. After posting 137 in-the-money finishes in May, ‘HeateN’ was the only PocketFives member to break the triple-digit mark finishign with 101 cashes. Five of those cashes were wins and ‘HeateN’ wound up with $2,740.29 in earnings.

The next closest competitor to ‘HeateN’ with 77 cashes. The Russian had three wins and $2,499.42 in earnings. One of Latvia’s busiest grinders finished in the third spot. ‘soldat777’ cashed 65 times with six of them being victories and his total earnings for the month $2,642.23.

Russia’s ‘DoperHarley’ spent the most time on top of the podium in June. ‘DoperHarley’ took down seven 888poker tournaments last month. They had wins on June 2 and June 8 before picking up a pair of victories on both June 11 and June 18 before grabbing a final win on June 20. Those seven wins came in 46 cashes and added $1,132.43 to their bankroll.

The six wins that ‘soldat777’ had in the month gave him the second highest total while ‘HeateN’ rounded out the top three with five wins.
