The first day of 2019 PACOOP was all about massive prize pools and smashing guarantees.

If the opening day of the inaugural PokerStars Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker is any indication, the next two weeks could be massive for online poker players in Pennsylvania.

The opening event of the 17-day PACOOP was a $100 buy-in event with a $20,000 guarantee. When registration closed, the guarantee had been left in the dust with 369 unique players creating a total of 546 entries. The final prize pool ended up at $50,122.80.

‘TeamTess100’ topped the field to win $8,850.86. Runner-up ‘BUYMEDINN527’ wound up earning $6,487.33. Third place finisher ‘Unlucky Rabbit’ won $4,755.20 for their finish. Last weeks’ Sunday Special winner, ‘TightisRight570’ wound up in fourth place for $3,485.54 after being one of 17 players to fire four bullets.

Team PokerStars Pro Jennifer Shahade finished 16th for a $396.26 score.

The other event on Saturday’s schedule also sailed past the guarantee. The 90 unique players that entered were enough to beat the $15,000 guarantee, but that group also managed 25 re-entries to push the total prize pool to $21,390.

‘dbrinker’ won the event outright to earn $4,898.98. Runner-up ‘mcmullend17’ took home $3,688.74 while ‘anamlr’ rounded out the podium finishers by finishing third for $2,777.51.

Having already won each of the two biggest Sunday Majors on PokerStars PA, ‘AllinWithAJoff’ finished in fifth place for $1,574.74.
