This week’s Podcast features interviews with Jon Van Fleet (Apestyles, PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Ranking #13) and Jared Hamby (TheWacoKidd, PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Ranking #48).

Jon “Apestyles” Van Fleet has been a staple of the online community for over a year, and hit a big payday two weeks ago in the PokerStars.com $1 Million Guaranteed Tournament, taking 2nd Place for $135,000. A nice guy with a pleasant disposition, Apestyles has quite a following whenever he makes it deep into an online tournament, where it is common to see over a dozen fans rooting him on in the chat box. Jon discusses his success story, which started when he made $50 weekly deposits and played $5 Sit & Go tournaments.

Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby began his online poker career by playing way above his means… $200 Sit & Go’s on PartyPoker.com while on his friend’s account. Never known as one to be conservative when it comes to placing wagers, TheWacoKidd is still a frequent sports bettor in the Las Vegas area. This once Baylor University student took a few months this summer to fly out to Vegas and enjoy himself. But a very successful (and lucky) run at the casino blackjack tables turned $500 into over $100,000, prompting him to purchase a house in nearby Henderson and make his move to the Vegas area a permanent one.

Our guests this week have more in common than being successful online poker players. During this year’s WSOP, they got drunk one night at The Palms Hotel & Casino (on Grey Goose vodka) and began playing Roshambo for money. In a very short time, the wagering reached $2,000 per hand, and it is rumored that “TheWacoKidd” got owned, and “Apestyles” did the owning. We’ll have that story and more on this week’s Podcast
