In recent weeks, Ukraine’s psyhoagromor(pictured) took third place in the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy. The tournament featured a star-studded final table that included three members of the top 200 on PocketFives, including 16th ranked NeverScaredB, who exited in 10th place. In the end, psyhoagromor, whose first name is Gleb, walked away with $33,000, boosting his lifetime tracked cash total to just shy of $700,000.

“It feels great obviously,” Gleb told PocketFives in an exclusive interview, “but I’m still kind of disappointed because I believe there’s only one winner in a tournament.” The top seven players booked five-figure paydays and over 1,000 entrants turned out. Six of the top eight finishers were card-carrying members of PocketFives.

“Every tournament I play, I’m trying to take the first place,” Gleb reiterated. “In the beginning, I was forced to make a double rebuy. Until there were 30 players left, it was just the usual grind and I was increasing my stack a bit each level. When there were only 30 players left, I lost few big pots and became a short stack, but after that, I was able to scoop two coolers and, on the final two tables, I had twice the average stack.”

Before the final table, Gleb was seated alongside NeverScaredB (pictured), a former EPT event winner who was ranked as high as #10 on PocketFives earlier this month. Gleb explained, “I was playing with NeverScaredB, who had been playing his usual style and had position on me. Most of the hands at that table I played were against him. When there were 10 players left, he made a huge bluff against me and that’s how I got a big stack at the final table.” NeverScaredB cashed for $3,400 after departing in 10th place. See the hand.

When the final table came along, Gleb said it largely went according to plan until six players remained. At that point, he lost a coin flip and then drew out on A-K with A-Q. Three-handed, a deal was discussed, but eventual winner David davidv1213 Vamplew declined to chop. Gleb joked, “I guess he knew something. Three-handed did not go well for me and I ended up with third place.”

The $33,000 score in the Sunday Rebuy is the fourth largest cash we have tracked for Gleb. It trails final tables in the Full Tilt $350,000 Guaranteed, PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up, and PokerStars Big $162 for $43,000, $42,000, and $35,000, respectively. As for his plans for the money, Gleb said he will keep it in his bankroll and “lose part of it eventually, as everybody does.”

Our interview subject won a PocketFives Triple Crown last November after wins on PokerStars, EuroPoker, and William Hill for a combined 504.72 PLB Points. Those scores in part have helped him achieve a #5 ranking in Ukraine. He is at #247 worldwide and previously could be found as high as #207 in March.

Poker in Ukraine seems to be in flux right now. As Gleb put it, “At this point, I play in local offline series here. Poker is developing and usually 20- to 45-year-olds play it. I am playing in a $330 tournament now and it has 220 entries.”

He said a friend told him about poker while he was in school, sparking his passion for the game. From there, he received instant bankrolls through various site promotions and has since found a passion for live poker: “Starting with the next season, I’m going to play EPT events.”
