Rashad Jennings helped Pickle45 score million in Week 17

Week 17 of the NFL is always an odd beast. We saw the Washington Redskins pull their starters before halftime, a former Colts practice squad member get playing time at quarterback in the Titans/Colts game, and all but two Steelers largely disappoint against Cleveland after an injury to DeAngelo Williams.

Despite the craziness, Pickle45won the DraftKings NFL Week 17 Millionaire Maker with a score of 242.56 points. His prize, as you might have already guessed, was $1 million. Let’s take a look at the winning Week 17 lineup.

At quarterback, Pickle45 selected Ben Roethlisberger. Although he struggled for a portion of Sunday’s game, Roethlisberger ended with 349 passing yards and three touchdowns. He was 19.4% owned as one of the chalk plays of the week, but nevertheless scored 28.76 points on DraftKings.

At running back, Pickle45 had Devonta Freeman and Rashad Jennings. The latter had largely been an afterthought until recently and rumbled for 170 yards and a touchdown in Week 17. Freeman had 99 yards from scrimmage and a score for the Falcons.

Pickle45 chose to go with both Freeman and WR Julio Jones from Atlanta in a rather unconventional decision. Jones didn’t hit paydirt, but finished with nine catches for 149 yards. He was 41% owned, one of the highest percentages of any player.

Also at receiver, Pickle45 rostered Antonio Brown andTerrence Williams. Brown made sense given Roethlisberger also being on Pickle45’s team and came through to the tune of 13 catches for 187 yards and a score. He could be the #1 overall selection in many season-long fantasy drafts in 2016 after recording 136 receptions this season.

Williams, who was just 1.2% owned, came through in a big way given that Dallas #1 receiver Dez Bryant was on the shelf. Williams, who largely played against Washington’s backups with Kellen Moore at QB, had eight grabs for 173 yards. He was one of the main reasons Pickle45 won due to his low ownership.

At tight end, Pickle45 had Zach Ertz, whom many DraftKings members were high on in Week 17. Ertz was, like Jones, 41% owned and teed off to the tune of nine catches for 152 yards.

At the flex position, Pickle45 had James Jones of the Packers, who was largely silent until the tail end of the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Jones finished with four catches for 102 yards, good for 17.2 DraftKings points.

Finally, at defense, Pickle45 had the Houston Texans, who gave up only six points in a home game against Jacksonville. The Texans recorded eight sacks, two interceptions, two fumbles, and a defensive touchdown, resulting in 29 points. They’ve been one of the hottest defenses in recent weeks and now take on Kansas City in the AFC Wild Card round.
