PocketFives HogWild Poker League Moves to 10:00pm ET in December
At the end of last month’s PocketFives League on HogWild Poker, a free-to-play, U.S.-facing online poker room, we asked participants what changes they wanted to see in December. One suggestion that came up several times was a one-hour change in start time from 9:00pm ET to 10:00pm ET in order to accommodate more of our friends on the West Coast. Therefore, December’s games will once again take place on Tuesday, but issue their “Shuffle up and deal” commands at 10:00pm ET. Ask and ye shall receive.

If you’re not familiar with the PocketFives League on HogWild Poker, it’s completely free to play. Four League games will be held in December and how you finish in each will determine your overall standings on the League’s leaderboard. U.S. poker players and players from around the world are welcome to compete and win prizes. The League has been a staple of our community for the last year.
Speaking of prizes, another suggestion from November’s League was that the cash payouts should be a little flatter to the top five. As a result, this month’s champion will walk away with $100 in cash plus a new PocketFives hoodie shipped right to their doorstep. We’ve never included a hoodie in the League’s prize list before, but after having so many PocketFivers ask how to get their hands on one, we decided that donating a hoodie was in order.
HogWild has also added 125,000 Hog Bucks to the prize pool. Hog Bucks are the currency of choice on HogWild and allow users to receive a leg up on the competition in various promotions. You’ll definitely want Hog Bucks and we appreciate HogWild adding so many of them.
Here’s what you can win in this month’s PocketFives League on HogWild Poker, which starts on Tuesday:

2nd Place – $60 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
3rd Place – $40 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
4th Place – $30 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
5th Place – $20 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
6th Place – 25,000 Hog Bucks
7th Place – 25,000 Hog Bucks
8th Place – 25,000 Hog Bucks
9th Place – 25,000 Hog Bucks
10th Place – 25,000 Hog Bucks
The game schedule is as follows. The final game takes place late on Christmas Day, when you’ll be digesting dinner and craving alone time away from your in-laws:

As if all of this weren’t enough, HogWild Poker held a Holiday Tournament last week for the PocketFives community and gave away a $200 Visa gift card to the winner. In the end, American poker player shumanshu2won the card, defeating Oklahoma’s charmedone26. We had nearly 200 people turn out for the tournament and would like to thank HogWild for footing the bill for the gift card.
We can also officially announce that on Thursday, December 13, HogWild Poker will host the next U.S.-friendly PocketFives Open. The tournament, which is specifically to celebrate our U.S. members, will be completely free to play and we’ll be awarding a brand new Wii U to the winner. These puppies are sold out everywhere online, but we’ve managed to hunt one down and will be adding it to the prize pool. We’ll also be giving away PocketFives gear and other prizes that we’ll announce in the coming days.
