eisenhower1 is #1 for the 15th straight week

It’s Wednesday, which means we recalculate the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings. Last week, Sweden’s ‘eisenhower1‘ led second-ranked ‘veeea’ by just 27 PLB Points, the measure used to determine the Rankings. This week, the Swede has widened his lead to 310 points. This is his 15th straight week at #1 in the world on PocketFives.

‘eisenhower1’ only has two wins in online MTTs we track since November 3. However, he has made up for it with final table after final table. He finished seventh in a PartyPoker Pokerfest event on November 8 for $14,000 and won the site’s Heavyweight Uppercut for $8,400 on December 22. He had five final tables in the first five days of January and sits with a PLB score of 7,348 points.

It’s not easy being ranked at the top of PocketFives for 15 weeks in a row. Chris ‘moorman1‘ Moorman, who has been ranked #1 a total of 22 times since 2008, gave us his take on eisenhower1: “He’s a super consistent, tough player who has been around forever and really stood the test of time.”

As we said at the top, ‘veeea’ is the second-ranked player in the Rankings this week once again, with 7,038 PLB Points. He won the 24hPoker Sunday Drive two weeks ago and has resumed churning out MTT cashes after a one-week break for the New Year. He is the owner of 541 top-three finishes in tournaments we track and is on the cusp of passing $5 million in winnings for his career.

Coming off two holiday weeks, there was virtually no movement in the top 10 of the PocketFives Rankings. However, we had two players move up to #11 and #12 in the world, their highest ranking ever, and are knocking on the door of the top 10.

We’ll start with Sweden’s DeathbyQuads, who rose six spots to #11. He took second in the PokerStars $109 Sunday Kickoff on January 3 and raked in $22,000. He also won the site’s Bounty Builder on December 22 for $7,700, his 66th career tracked victory. ‘DeathbyQuads’ is at $1.3 million in online tournament winnings across 2,844 cashes.

Also reaching a personal best in the Rankings this week was Rocco ‘RoccoGe’ Palumbo, who moved up nine spots to #12. Palumbo won the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo in recent days as well as the PokerStars.fr €100 Night on Stars. The same day as that cash, he placed second in the PartyPoker Weekender and put back $16,000.

Meanwhile, Moorman moved up 17 spots to #27 this week and told us we should expect him to climb all the way back to #1 in 2016: “I’ve set one of my goals this year to make it back to #1 at some point in 2016. I will be putting in a lot of volume again this year.” Moorman took second in the PokerStars $215 Rebuy three days ago for $10,000 and is approaching $13 million in online MTT winnings, the most of anyone by almost $4 million.

Mexico’s ‘norfair18‘ reentered the top 100 at #57. This former #1 player won the Winamax Grand over the weekend for $38,000 and 380 PLB Points. He took gold in the site’s High Roller two days before that and is just a few thousand dollars shy of hitting $2 million for his career. He is the second-ranked player in Mexico and plays as ‘aggr0vated’on PartyPoker and 888.

Finally this week, we wanted to single out Shyam ‘s_dot111‘ Srinivasan, who reentered the top 100 at #70. He took down last weekend’s PokerStars Sunday Second Chance for $37,000 and finished fourth in the site’s $109 Cubed the same day. He is approaching $8.5 million in career winnings.
