It’s Wednesday, which can only mean one thing: Hump Day. Okay, it means two things then: Hump Day and the latest update to the PocketFives Rankings. This week’s major storylines: two new entrants into the top 10 and the world’s #1 player widened his lead over the competition.

‘C Darwin2’ #1 for the Second Straight Week

Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2‘ retained the top spot in the rankings for the second straight week. This time around, he stretched his lead over the rest of the pack to 728 PLB Points. He has 8,167 points now and spent the last week tearing up the online felts. Last week, his rankings lead was less than 100.

Over the weekend, ‘C Darwin2’ won the PokerStars Sunday Grand for a healthy $44,000 and 465 PLB Points. It was his ninth largest score all-time and came two days before a win in the PokerStars Bounty Builder for $8,000. He’s up to 64 career tracked wins and just passed $4.4 million in lifetime online MTT cashes.

Two Players Enter the Top 10

Jimmy ‘JMolloy’ Molloy was one of two players to enter the top 10 this week. He moved up from #13 to #9 after a solid Sunday in which he finished fourth in the PokerStars Super-Sized Sunday and took third in the partypoker High Roller. Those two scores were worth $24,000 combined.

On Saturday, Molloy won a $109 No Limit Hold’em tournament on PokerStars and a $162 No Limit Hold’em Ultra Deep Stacks event for over $5,000 total, the 323rd and 324th wins of his career. At #9, Molloy is one spot shy of his all-time apex in the rankings set in 2014. He is the #1 ranked player in Canada.

Also riding into the top 10 this week is Johannes ‘Greenstone25’ Korsar, who just passed $8 million in career winnings. He ticked up two spots to #10 despite not recording a cash since July 3. This is the highest Korsar has ever been ranked on PocketFives and he’s one of four Swedish players to grace the top 10.

Other Movers and Shakers

Sweden’s ‘DeathbyQuads‘ moved up 15 places to #22 after taking third in the 888 Whale over the weekend for $11,000. The following day, he took down a $22 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max Turbo Progressive on PokerStars, his 90th career win. ‘DeathbyQuads’ is on the cusp of passing $2 million in lifetime online tournament winnings and plays on PokerStars and 888 under the user name ‘Eijseijs‘.

Another player making waves this week was Argentina’s ‘Kleinsane‘, who was up 19 spots to #57, his best showing ever. He won last weekend’s PokerStars Mini Sunday Supersonic for almost $10,000 under the handle ‘TEENageTuRtL‘. The Argentinian also had a big month of May in which he final tabled the Super Tuesday, Big $215, and a SCOOP $1,050 No Limit Hold’em event.

Fellow South American ‘gusma‘, from Brazil, reentered the top 100 at #70, 50 spots off his all-time high set last year. ‘gusma’ was the champion of the 888 Whale over the weekend, his 10th largest score ever, and took home $21,000 for his efforts. The day before that, he came out on top of the field in the PokerStars Saturday Scuffle for $7,400. He’s the fourth-ranked player in Brazil out of over 2,300 who have PLB scores.

The only other new entrant into the top 100 this week was Croatia’s ‘ThoNapalm‘, who debuted at #98, the highest he has ever been ranked on PocketFives. He only has four cashes this month, but drove deep in the Sunday Million to open the stanza and is now the #2-ranked player in Croatia. He has $1.4 million in career winnings and finished fourth in the SCOOP Super Tuesday earlier this year for $103,000.
