‘eisenhower1’ is one of four Swedes at the top of the PocketFives rankings

Sweden is dominating the PocketFives Rankings. It’s not like this is anything new, as Swedes are typically staples of the top 10. However, this week, Swedes hold down the top four spots worldwide.

Leading the way is ‘C Darwin2‘, who has been #1 on PocketFives since February 10. He continues to pile up cashes, including a second place in the Winamax High Roller on February 28 for $12,000. Four more cashes on Tuesday pushed his PLB score to 7,371 points – 400 more than second place.

That spot belongs to Sweden’s Niklas “Lena900” Astedt, who is at his all-time high in the rankings after moving up one notch this week. He has 6,956 PLB Points and took down the PokerStars $215 Weekly Six Max over the weekend for almost $13,000, his 86th career win. He is now $71,000 away from hitting $4 million in winnings all-time and is the top-ranked player in the Swedish county of Vastra Gotaland.

Swapping places with fellow Swede ‘lena900‘ is ‘Ariados‘, who is at #3 worldwide. He won the PartyPoker High Roller last week for $17,000 and also took down the PokerStars.fr Sunday High Roller and PokerStars Bounty Builder last month for almost $25,000 total. ‘Ariados’ plays under the screen name ‘Sasuke234‘ on PokerStars, where he has $2.2 million in career winnings.

Former #1 ranked ‘eisenhower1‘ rounds out the Swedish contingent. ‘eisenhower1’ is up one spot this week and just hit $8 million in career online tournament winnings, the ninth most of anyone. He has a PLB score of 6,792 points and plays under the handle ‘FergieTime5‘ on PartyPoker.

Joel ‘jbrown8777’ Brown moved back into the top 10 this week. He was at #15 last Wednesday, but jumped to #9 on the strength of a final table over the weekend in the Sunday Second Chance for $20,000. In the middle of February, he won the PartyPoker High Roller and earned $27,000, his largest score of 2016. The Canadian was ranked as high as #3 in the world last year.

Continuing to shoot up the rankings is England’s Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford, who rocketed from #47 to #19 this week, his highest ranking ever. He has eight wins since February 7, two of which came in the PartyPoker High Roller. The Englishman is the second-ranked player in the UK and tops in the city of York.

Also moving up was Russia’s ‘NoPlanB‘, who started the week at #44 and ended it at #20, his best showing ever. He’s the top-ranked player in Moscow and won the weekend’s PokerStars Sunday Second Chance for $37,000 and 455 PLB Points. Three wins in February raised his career total to 119 and he plays as ‘EvnomiYa‘ across most of the major sites.

Poland’s ‘sickpastor‘ entered the top 100 at #82, his best ranking ever, after winning four tournaments last month. He claimed gold in a TCOOP event on the last day of January for $105,000, his largest cash to date, and just passed $500,000 in career winnings. ‘sickpastor’ is the top-ranked player Poland has to offer.

Reentering the top 100 was Finnish player ‘European‘, who was ranked as high as #3 on PocketFives two years ago. ‘European’ won the PokerStars $109 Rebuy on Tuesday and is up to $2.6 million in career winnings. He chopped the Sunday Million in late 2014 for $185,000 and has also final tabled a Six Max SCOOP event for over $200,000.

Rick ‘TheClaimeer’ Trigg reentered the top 100 at #90

Finally, England’s Rick ‘TheClaimeer’ Trigg reentered the top 100 at #90. Trigg was once #4 on PocketFives and won the PokerStars $11 Rebuy over the weekend to boost his bankroll by $9,200. The Brit has 552 top three finishes and was the 2014 Yearly PLB champion.
