There’s a new sheriff in town, at least for this week. When the PocketFives Online Poker Rankingswere recalculated on Wednesday, a new #1 player emerged, Belarus’ Legenden, who rose two spots from #3 to #1. He was previously as high as #2 worldwide in the Rankings late last year and is the first top-ranked player we’ve ever had from Belarus.

2013 has been mighty kind to Legenden, who won the Full Tilt Saturday Six-Max over the weekend for $10,000 and finished second in a SCOOP €100 No Limit Hold’em Two-Day Event earlier this month for $49,000. He nearly drove past the entire 3,600-player field in that tournament and captured 430 PLB Points.

In mid-February, Legenden turned in two healthy scores, the first of which was worth $56,000 and came by virtue of a second place finish in the PokerStars Sunday $100 Rebuy. He chopped that tournament heads-up with PokerStars player 7tHEcROw7, who collected $61,000. Five of the top 110 ranked players made the final table.

As if that weren’t enough, the same day as his Sunday $100 Rebuy chop, Legenden took down a $215 tournament on PokerStars for $19,000. Two weeks earlier, he final tabled the PartyPoker $1 Million Guaranteed for $46,000 and was the runner-up in the PokerStars $162 Sunday Six-Max for another $18,000. By the way, both of those scores came on the same day.

Legenden is up to $1.7 million in tracked cashes in his PocketFives profile and has turned in 1,751 tracked in the money finishes. He won his first, and so far only, Triple Crown last October after winning $10,000 prize pool tournaments on PokerStars, Betfair, and PokerStars.fr in a seven-day period, netting him 421 PLB Points.

In other movement this week in the Rankings, Germany’s Fresh_Oo_D (pictured) shot up nine spots from #16 worldwide to #7. He had formerly appeared at #11 in the Rankings last month and now enters new territory in the top 10. The Steinfurt resident won the PokerStars $530 Wednesday Pot Limit Omaha High-Low Six-Max one week ago for $11,000. He is up to over $1 million in lifetime tracked winnings and has amassed a shade under 6,700 PLB Points.

The German is also fresh off earning his first Triple Crown, which came in February after victories on PokerStars, Full Tilt, and PokerStars.fr for a colossal 722 PLB Points. In a one week-span around the same time period, Fresh_Oo_D took down the PokerStars.fr Big €50, PokerStars Hot $109 and $11 Rebuy, and Full Tilt $3,000 Guaranteed and $7,000 Guaranteed. Just before that, he claimed victory in the PokerStars.fr Night on Stars and raked in $11,000.

Also landing in the top 10 this week was Mexico’s jdpc27 (pictured), who rose 29 spots to #8 worldwide. This isn’t his first foray into the top 10, as he was formerly as high as #5 in 2011. An Ongame Network cash of $12,000 last Friday and a victory in last week’s PokerStars Super Tuesday have propelled him back on top. The latter in the money finish was officially worth $109,000, his second largest tracked score ever.

Three of the top 12 ranked players, and two of the top five, are from Canada. There are eight countries represented in the top 10. Congrats to Legenden, Fresh_Oo_D, jdpc27, and everyone else who made waves in this week’s Rankings update. View the PocketFives Poker Rankings for more details.
