PocketFives Rankings Update: Yuri Martins #1 for Fifth Straight Week

For the fifth straight week, Brazil’s Yuri Martins (pictured) is the #1 player in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings. He ascended to the throne on December 17 and hasn’t looked back since. The man they call theNERDguyon PokerStars is up to $4.5 million in tracked online tournament cashes and showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, Brazilians are #1 and #2 in the Rankings this week.

Martins hasn’t recorded a five-figure cash since he became our #1 player, but on December 14, he scored in a big way by taking down the PokerStars Knockout Week Main Event for a blistering $76,000 and over 707 PLB Points, the metric used to determine the Rankings. He has recorded two smaller wins since then, raising his career total to 129.

Likely due to many poker players being camped out at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas and focusing on live poker, there was little movement at the top of the Rankings this week. Outside of the top 10, Kevin ImaLuckSac MacPhee rose 16 spots to land at #30 on the strength of three five-figure cashes in January, including a final table in the Sunday 500 for $15,000 over the weekend.

After final tabling the Sunday Second Chance over the weekend for $24,000 and 263 PLB Points, Cyprus’ daskalos (pictured) moved up 19 spots to settle at #47. He has $2.2 million in career online tournament winnings and is the top-ranked poker player in Cyprus.

The biggest jump inside the top 100 went to Denmark’s x_zola25, who climbed 29 spots and can be found at #62 in the world. He won the PokerStars $109 Rebuy two days ago for $7,500 and has four wins already this month, two of which came PartyPoker. This is his highest position ever in the Rankings and he is the #1 player in Denmark.

Finally this week, we wanted to single out Belarus’ OMGitshunt, who reentered the top 100 at #74. He has been a one-man wrecking crew since 2015 began, turning in four wins, including the Big $162 and $109 Rebuy on PokerStars for $30,000 combined. He is about to break $3.5 million in career scores and resides in Minsk.

Here are the top 10 players in the Rankings this week along with the PLB score for each:
