There are 20 players remaining in Event #29 of the 2014 World Series of Poker, a $2,500 No Limit Hold’em tournament. What started as a field of 1,165 has been whittled down to a quaint group that has Jamie pokerjamers Armstrong (pictured) at its helm with a stack of 765,000.

Armstrong Tweeted late in the day that he had come out on the short end of a race, but still managed to hold the chip lead entering the tournament’s final scheduled day: “Lost a big flip A-Q vs 9-9 for 450K. FML. Ended with 765K, come back to 5/10K with 20 left. Goodnight.”

Armstrong has a half-million dollars in WSOP earnings, about half of which came after a runner-up finish in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event in 2012. He finished fifth in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Eight-Max tournament last year for $112,000.

Isaac mr. menloBaron (pictured) was the final player eliminated on Saturday after calling all-in on a board showing 5-9-K-5-J and tabling J-5 for what seemed to be an unbeatable full house. However, David Benefield showed K-5 for a better full house and scooped the pot, simultaneously sending Baron to the rail.

Also shown the door late in the day on Saturday was Daniel DeoxyriboStrelitz, who called all-in before the flop with K-9 of hearts and was up against the K-J of spades belonging to Andy Pham. The board ran out 5-4-8-2-7 and Strelitz was sent packing in 26th place after Pham’s kicker played.
