The $0.10 PocketFives qualifier and $10 PCA direct satellite are in celebration of the 10th running of the Bahamian poker tournament series, which is set to kick off in early January. The scenic Atlantis Resort and Casino is the site for the PCA, which first ran in 2004 and has been growing ever since.

New Full Tilt front man Gus Hansen won the very first PCA Main Event back in 2004. Since then, other Main Event champs have included John Gale (2005), Steve stevejpaAmbrose (2006), Ryan Daut44Daut (2007, pictured), Bertrand ElkYGrospellier (2008), Poorya Nazari (2009), Harrison gibler123Gimbel (2010), Galen Turk Malloy Hall (2011), and John Dibella (2012). Members of the PocketFives community have won five of the nine PCA Main Events held so far, a 56% success rate.

According to PokerStars, the Bahamas were void of poker before the PCA was created eight years ago.

This year’s PCA consists of 40 tournaments. The $10,300 Main Event begins on January 6, features two starting days, and crowns a winner one week later. On the final day of the PCA, which takes place on January 14, a $10,300 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Six-Max event will pan out.

If you miss out on PocketFives’ $0.10 qualifier, PokerStars is running $10 direct qualifiers for the PCA every Sunday at 13:00 ET until December 9. Each has 10 packages guaranteed and registration will be open for three hours after the tournament’s start time. You can find the qualifiers in the PokerStars lobby under the “Events” and “All” tab.
