PokerStars began the 2012 SCOOP scheduleon May 6th. The series continues until May 20th, when it culminates in three Main Events. The granddaddy of them all is a $10,300 high-stakes Main Event that has a guaranteed purse of $2.5 million. The mid-stakes Main Event carries a $1,050 buy-in and has a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool, while the low-stakes Main Event costs $109 to enter and guarantees $1 million. The total SCOOP guaranteed prize pool is a staggering $30 million.

The major storyline of the 2012 SCOOP thus far has been the play of PokerStars pro and online poker cash game guru Viktor Isildur1Blom, who won back-to-back tournaments during the second and third SCOOP events. Blom is just a few weeks away from competing in his very first World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and, needless to say, we’re expecting big things from the young Swedish native.
